  2. Warn, do not block, older browser users.

It's reasonable to withdraw support for old browsers. It's not reasonable to completely block users from using the site. (This used to be a thing I found extremely irksome in the 90s when using Opera or another perfectly capable browser that the web designer wasn't fluent in.) I understand that there is a desire to preserve a certain amount of control over the user experience to ensure your vision is true, but blocking access is not the solution. Some people don't have the luxury of upgrading the browser they use in all contexts (be it work, a public terminal, a…

  3. nickname on the site

Opps - when I 1st registered and filled out the nickname for this site, I did not realize that I could not change it. Thus, I used my MMO gaming handle... which sounds ... well, it gives a bad impression in context of this writing/gaming site. Can you either let players change their nicknames within the 1st day of signing up, or post a message in the sign up form that lets users know that their nickname cannot be changed so think it through?

Good point, thanks for the feedback! Meanwhile, please open a support ticket (which is private) and let us know your current nickname and what you would like it changed to — we’ll fix it. :)

  4. Quick scroll when you click on feed activity

If you could set it up so that the page automatically scrolls to the bottom of the scene when you click the link in "[So-and-so] has made a move in [Epic Story Name]. Minor thing, but I'm sure it's easy enough to incorporate. It can be annoying scrolling through very deep scenes, especially on a mobile device.

  5. implement move by email reply

If you get an email containing the contents of another player's move, you should be able to reply to that email and have it posted to the game scene as if you were logged into the web site.

I guess there might need to be some kind of special meta-syntax to handle challenges/obstacles and card playing.

  6. Help a first time narrator with their first scene.

I have two challenges, 1 point each, and no one has made a move yet, but it says all challenges are defeated and I should consider ending the scene.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  7. Have cast widget scroll down page

So, I'll sometimes be down at the bottom and want to check a detail about a character like a name or some such. I have to scroll all the way back up, read the info, then all the way back down to finish my post. I don't see a solid reason why cast can't scroll down, mirroring the commentary window?

The cast list actually is fixed in location, but only up to 4 players. After that, we can’t be sure that everything will fit on the screen, and if it didn’t then there would be no way to view the content that spills over. So in those cases we have to make the cast list scroll with the rest of the page so that we can ensure that everything will be visible. Make sense?

  8. asset usable only in scene

Allow Narrator to set an Asset card as only being usable in a particular scene, place, or for a particular challenge. For example, I'm running a game where the players can act in real life or in a dream world. If I give them an asset in the dream world, I'd like them to only be able to use that asset card in the dream world (and any associated places).

  9. Add more space around card images

Since I went to the trouble of picking out these images, it would be nice if players were able to see them unobstructed by text, or at larger size.

  10. Challenge Cards, Editable Values.

When playing an Obstacle, Challenge or Character/Creature card, it would be excellent to have the ability to set two values on the card. One for Strength and one for weakness.

For example i can play a really formidable creature and the players have two options. They can play 5 strength cards to fight the beast or play 3 weak cards and flee to look for another route.

  11. View challenge history

From the play a card section it would be really useful to be able to somehow view all the posts the relate to a particular challenge. When there is lots going on, it's sometimes hard to remember everyone's moves and it would be good to be able to use previous responses as inspiration for your own move, or at least so you can write with consistently with the action.

  12. Narrator Info Page

We need a narrator info page separate from the teaser page. There are a lot of different ways to play this game, and there should be some place for the narrator to express there expectations and play style. Formatting, voice, tense, and how the narrator wants the cards played. These things just don't fit well in the teaser part.

  13. A basic blurb for each story

Each game listed needs to have blurb with a word limit of 15 words or something that gets to the point telling everyone what the theme or basic story plot is about. And also what genre it falls into.

  14. Give narrators a tense setting

In the games I've played, there seems to be at least one point in which the issue of what tense the writing is being done in is discussed. What would be handy, for clarity's sake, is to put a Tense: setting in the story notes section similar to how Speed: and Visibility: is displayed. This would help to avoid confusion amongst everyone involved.

  15. Renaming Goal Cards

Sometimes events obviate a goal. For example, 'Befriend Bob' and then Bob gets killed. Why not make it possible to rename them just like Assets, by using up one of the cards?

  16. Provide character background

I think I've noticed my players balk at character creation when it comes to background writing. maybe some copy there, or some suggestions to speed the players getting to play?

  17. add "Suits" for cards.

Allow the narrator to add a suit to a card such as "Dinosaur" or "Dwarf", and then allow cards of a given type to be sorted by suit. Really just a card management tool, but with a little added style.

  18. Matching players to games

After being a veteran RP'er and trying to showcase Storium to newbies, I noticed something that may be very helpful for beginners: being able to setup profiles with topic/genre interests and experience levels that allows a search that matches the best games to them. Jumping in on a game seems very hard for even someone like me, whose a veteran. I feel lost trying to choose a game, so can imagine what a newbie might go through

  19. have the ability to go tabletop and back.

It would be great to be able to play the game throughout the week and then print the updated materials to play a table game. Then have some form of summary tab that summarizes play on that day, and allows adjustments to the characters. People can then play through the week again.

  20. Offer a free flow story area

Each game is going to have it's game master driven story line but while people are waiting for their GM to post, or for other players to join the game so that the game master can begin a free flow story area would be a great place to allow people ready to play a place to introduce their characters. Not to use something so cliche as the tavern in a D&D game but we need a tavern like in a D&D game.
