Provide Hosts with a "Please Hand Off Your Character" button
A lot of Hosts have run into the problem of players that disappear on them and the only choice you have is to force retire the character. When the character is one you genuinely need, it's highly annoying! So what if there was a way for the Storium system to provide the player with a polite way to complete the hand-off without having to suffer the embarrassment of interacting with the Host whom they have let down, or having to do anything more than send a hurried "Yes" in response to an email? Or click a button within that email? And have doing so complete the hand-off which for whatever reason they just cannot bring themselves to complete in some other way? Wouldn't that be nice? Some way to politely nudge those disappeared players that doesn't even require an acknowledgement in words from them? And maybe, the feature could have some sort of limit like, you use it three times at one week intervals and at that point, it allows you to force the hand-off? What do you think folks? Hrm?

This makes total sense. I think this is a really good way to make sure people don't just ghost on the game and such.

Perfect compromise, yes. I’d like to see this happen.

I have taken to using "Host licence" purely and simply because this is the only option that means I can hand off any character at any time! I would not use it if avoidable but when players just disappear you are stuck, it is so nice to be able to hand the character over. I get the idea that the character is their property and I love that this is so respected, but honestly if it messes up the game for everyone and they have gone back to playing Solitaire or whatever these people do, the contract should be two-sided: use it or loose it! This suggestion of three strikes and you are out seems the perfect compromise!
