distinguish between inline/block pre/code text
The current markdown processes (A) lines which begin with four spaces, (B) text enclosed by ticks (text
), and (C) text enclosed by three ticks (text
) as <pre>.
Could we instead use for inline (potentially not fenced/without a background, just plaintext/monospace) and
`` for preformatted blocks? Otherwise, it seems we have three unique bits of syntax that do exactly the same thing.
