It is frustrating that suspended games count against your character limit. The only way to prevent that is to retire the character, but then it looks like you abandoned the game (which isn't really accurate if the game is long abandoned).

Perhaps there could be another category called "Abandoned" once a game has been suspended for some amount of time (6 months?). Games in this category could be omitted from the character count.

Alternately (or in addition), there could be a warning or something to prevent someone from going over their limit if a suspended game is ever resumed. In most cases, though, that's not going to happen.
