  1. Allow me to move the character description modal

When I'm creating a character, and it's time for me to enter a description, the modal window obscures some of the cards I've chosen, making it tough for me to refer back to them whilst describing.

  2. Call out that players can't play cards without an obstacle in the scene.

I created my first scene entirely with goal cards, which confused players who wanted to play cards from their hands. If I understood that obstacles allowed / forced card play, and they understood that no obstacle meant no cards were allowed / required, that would have made the opening scene smoother.

  3. Movable request revisions dialog

When requesting revisions, you can't see the original text, since the Request Revisions pop up is directly over it.

Maybe have it appear off to one side or as a movable dialog?

  4. Commentary comment box too small

On the main page for our game. This is about the Commentary area on the right side of the screen.

The box should be expanded down more or at least grow as I type. It doesn't show very much while I'm entering in Text.

  5. "Like"-ing moves, scenes, characters, etc.

I think that it would be neat if there was a like button on moves, so that you could show other players when you liked what they were doing without having to write a comment.

It would be gratifying way of telling people to "do more of this".

  6. Allow editing of the "poke" message

The "poke" feature is handy, and the email that goes out is serviceable, but sometimes I don't feel that "holding up the action" is the way I want to phrase my notification. Any chance the poke function could provide an editable text box?

  7. Allow people to browse and share cards from other games

Along with the privacy controls some others have suggested, I think it would be super cool if you would enable a searchable catalog of cards across all genres.

Like if I need an "Arrogant" card, I could browse all of the cards storytellers have permitted to be "re-used" and choose the one I like best.

  8. Include default portrait options with settings

Since a portrait is required to submit a character, having a handful of options unique to each setting would be helpful. It might also be expensive to create that library of images.

Great idea, thank you! We’re planning to build up an art library (probably as part of an upcoming Kickstarter campaign), but I also like the idea of including default character portraits as a part of the fictional world itself. That would be really useful.

  9. Add a "backstory" page for each game

I'd love to have a place to put maps and world notes for the players' reference.

  10. Provide EVEN MORE help for first-time narrators

So you guys have done a fine job helping new narrators get started. But I'm needy and want even more help for my first game.

    1. Sample description. I won't go so far as to say you need to give me a title, but even the short description had me freezing up with writer's block. Stephen told me that there's a pre-written first scene -- awesome! But I hit the description first and that was a hurdle.

    2. Checklist? Or something like it. The "% Configured" bar is fine, but let me know the steps I'm missing! You have them color coded…

Thanks for the great feedback! Responding your points in turn:

    1. Totally hear you about the game description being a “blank page” of sorts. We here at hate blank pages! We’ll come up with a way to help you out with this step.

    2. There actually is already a checklist of remaining items, just to the left of the progress bar. We might need to make it more visible…

    3. You can find a couple of example games at the following URLs:

    http://storium.com/game/columbus-hope

    http://storium.com/game/beyond-the-imperium/chapter-1/scene-1

  11. Include Markdown in comments

The markdown available in story posts is just right for the style of play involved in Storium. But it'd be nice to also allow markdown in the running commentary: bolding, etc. Maybe even linkify URLs there, which would be less appropriate in story text.

  12. Allow a narrator to 'add card' to the basic pool, based on player's suggestion

My players came up with some great alternative character types for my world while creating their characters. I'd love to be able to add them to the pool with a single click.

  13. Stock Avatars

I would love to have a stock avatar feature--just incase people have issues finding the exact look for their character.
