Group Together Ended Stories
I just ended a story and was shocked to find nothing happen with it. It's still listed on games I'm Narrating. Shouldn't it be grouped into a Competed story section or something?
3 votesGamma has the beginnings of this!

It's frustrating that whoever plays last controls the narrative
It creates a disincentive for playing, and it makes narrative control a matter of timing rather than good writing or a good narrative fit. If you want control of a scene, the current system encourages you to wait and try to snipe control by playing only once the challenge is close to completion. But what if you have to be at work, or are asleep when someone else completes the challenge you were waiting on? Part of the idea of Storium, I thought, is that you can play whenever your timing works out for you (so long as you do…
1 voteThese issues can be addressed through the narrator’s use of challenges – perhaps they could make smaller, individual challenges so that people are not in competition to play more cards/play last. The narrator may also want to consider how the outcomes are defined so that it does not contradict the flow of the narrative once the end results are met.

Allow narrators to edit scenes after a player posts
I found some typos in a scene but couldn't edit after a player posted; I don't want to change anything significant, just make it more readable for the benefit of others
9 votesThis is fixed in Gamma.

A way to reject/revise characters
There needs to be a way for the narrator to reject characters so they can be revised after they have been created without kicking out a player and re-inviting them.
Players should also be able to edit or revise their characters before the first scene starts.
Cheers,

Allow PNG files
Currently whenever I upload card images, they are converted to JPG files. This is fine, I understand you need to preserve file space. But I made some pixel art for my cards and as JPGs they look terrible. An option to decline file conversion would be much appreciated.

make it possible to clone a game and give it to someone else to narrate
If I understand correctly, the current cloning of a game leaves the same person as narrator. Could it be set up that when the game is cloned, it is "given" to someone else. That way it's not always the same person having to narrate a particular gameworld
1 voteNarrators are now able to hand off games to other players, so a narrator could clone a game and give it to someone else to run. Thanks!

Categories for Games
It would be great if we were able to seperate the games we were playing in/narrating into categories; once you get up to six or more games it's slightly annoying to scroll through to find whatever game you're looking for.
Some sample categories might include being able to group things by genre, or whether their public or private. Of course, it'd be best if users could make their own categories because everyone has different organizational needs.
5 votesGamma allows you to completely customize the list of games shown on your homepage. You will also have a new page that lists all of your games and organizes them by your role (playing, narrating, retired, game completed, etc).

Have a Dialouge WITH the narrator.
I have an email: "The narrator commented on your character for [ Game X ]"...
But for the life of me I can't see where this dialouge is. I can read it in my email, but replies go into a hole. On my character there is no account of the Narrator having/starting this conversation with me. No way to reply. There are not private message functions either.
4 votesIn Gamma, each character sheet now has an ongoing private commentary thread between the narrator and the player.

Display or share email address
Until the private messaging system is good to go, a space on one's profile to share one's email address would be very useful for those of us who don't use Twitter or have a homepage.
1 votePrivate messaging is now good to go!

Set a "return: false;" onclick on the card flip
Currently, when you click on the "flip-button" icon on a card, it has an href="#". If the card is farther down on the page, it jumps up to the top of the page in addition to flipping the card over, which is disorienting. One way to solve this would be to add an onclick event with "return: false;", which will remove the normal anchor behavior.

Card Count
Because we have a hard limit on how many cards we can play in any scene, it would be useful, as a narrator, to be able to have a running tally of how many cards each player has used in any given scene, as well as a running total for the game. This would make it easier to see which players need to step up and contribute cards, as well as which players overplay, constantly contributing more than their fair share of cards.
6 votesThe Activity Summary at the bottom of the game page lists cards played, moves played, last move played for both the narrators and players. It also lists the current state of the challenges.

find a way to help narrators past the initial "hump" where many stories just die out.
Many times, after a few days or weeks a story will just fizzle out. Perhaps having a set number of chapters and a firm conclusion for more short form stories will help folks have a more satisfying experience.
1 voteNarrators can now select a story format with a set number of scenes (including short stories) and progress bar to show exactly where in the story you are. Thanks!

Allow cards to be removed when editing a move
I'm trying to edit my move based on a request from the narrator as he had given new information which completely negates my entire move. I'm not able to delete my move or to edit it so that I can remove the cards and start the move afresh. Being able to remove cards when editing a post would be very useful.
10 votesIn Gamma, you can change the cards you played on a move (including removing them) provided that your change does not create a conflict with other cards already played later in the scene.

create a way for the narrator to either
a) remove an asset card from a player or
b) clone a played asset cardThis would be helpful in games where a player (for one reason or another) isn't available, but the narrator doesn't want to retire the character but does want a possibility for other players to claim the assets.
Making the card unavailable to the narrator after playing makes it very difficult to dig out of holes.
1 voteNarrator assets are now available in the card library after creation.

Allow players to specify preferred speed
One problem that came up in the games I've been in was a few players signing up for a "Daily" speed game but not being able to post every day. This led to them feeling like they weren't keeping up enough, and leaving the game.
I'm not sure players really pay attention to the speed settings on the game pages, and wondered if there might be a way to call it out more. One thing that I thought would work well is if a player, on creating their account (or for existing players, the next time they log in after…
2 votesPlayers are now able to set their preferred game speed in their profiles and can use this information to filter games on the Looking for Players page.

Have a way to look at scenes in a story that has opened new slots for players
I just joined a game that was already a few scenes in, but had re-opened for players to join. There didn't seem to be a way to see what had happened already to help make a character that would fit. In this case, I think I lucked I to one, but not every narrator looking for a new character to help out a tight spot will be so lucky.
1 voteGames that have re-opened for applications can now be accessed either via the ‘Read’ button on the banner or through the Green Room Game tab. Thanks.

Separate Account Name from Username
There are two reasons to make this change:
Username is public information within storium, meaning that half of the battle is already done with regards to cracking someone's account. Requiring login by email, or having account name not be public information (or at least make it optional) fixes this problem.
Coming through from Kickstarter, I chose a personally identifiable username believing it would be background information. Providing a public pseudonym field would help with this privacy concern for users who did not understand how their login credentials would be displayed to others.
3 votesAccount names are important for establishing identity within the Storium community and are meant to be the public pseudonyms you describe. Definitely hear you about people who did not understand the implications of their choice of user names. To help with this, we will likely add the ability to change your user name in the future, and we are also considering proposals to allow people to choose multiple aliases. But for now we will be happy to change it for you if you file a support ticket!

Archives
Perhaps there should be an archive of games that get randomly deleted without warnings to the players, just in case players would like to grab some ideas or concepts they didn't save. Maybe the archives can be available for a limited time
1 voteNarrator can no longer delete games outright. Instead, they can “suspend” them, in which case the game is halted but nothing is deleted or removed.

Allow players to remove game from list
Is there a way to quit playing a game and/or remove it from your list of games once a game starts?
1 voteYou can retire from a game at any time by clicking your character portrait on the left side of the screen, clicking your username to open your character sheet, and then clicking “Retire”.

Image dimensions
Are there anywhere posted the guidelines for dimensions of images for each place (banner, avatar, scene, etc.)? That would be helpful.
1 voteIt’s not published anywhere yet, but here you go:
Game banners: 650×200
Character avatars: 150×150
Cards: 100×160 or 182×120
