Unable to Make a Move
Hello. I'm part of a game (Uncharted Isle) and I'm attempting to make my character's first move. Unfortunately I keep being told that the site's having trouble communicating with Storium servers and that I should try again later or try refreshing the page. When I do that I get the same message and can't see the edit field for my draft or what cards I can select. This has been going on since this afternoon and I don't want to hold things up much longer. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kerri

Bug: Paging not working on games lists
Hi,
The games lists seem to seem to show the same games regardless of the page. So - https://storium.com/games/open?page=2 shows the same as https://storium.com/games/open?page=3 and the first page.

Just a little typo
There's a small typo on the page that opens after you first create an account. Next to "start a game" it says "you can even people who don't have storium yet". It's missing a verb. Sorry if this is too nitpicky.
1 voteThe start a game page now says: “Starting a new game is easy! Storium guides you through setting everything up and helps you invite your friends (even if they’re not already on Storium) or find people to play with from the community.”

Allow Reply to Sender on emails
I just started playing in a stranger's campaign and she was nice enough to send me long email about my character. I wanted to respond, but my reply looks like it would just go to the Storium server. I don't want to reply in the Commentary on the game because that would feel out of place. Please provide a means to reply to the sender of emails either on the site (I assume she wrote it as comments on my character but I can't see it on my character's page) or via the email.
ALSO: I have a bunch of…

explain what the grid of squares represent
I assume those squares represent the number of points they are worth or hit points, but it could be clarified more

Let players view the game's base cards after character creation
In the game I just joined, the description of one of the stock character types (Natures) makes reference to another character type in the setting. But none of the players chose that Nature, so I don't have a reference for what the word means!
In this case I'll just ask in comments, of course, but overall I think it'd be a handy thing for players to be able to peek back at the initial story deck as a handy reference for the stuff that tends to show up in the world.

Provide a way to close a game
I've explored the interface as best I could, but I can't find any way to say "this game is shut down" other than deleting it. If I still want some way to flip back through old scenes, but don't want people to keep writing into the game, what can I do? I can start the "final scene," but then it just sits there indefinitely.
5 votesNarrators can now “suspend” a game, which shuts it down and prevents any further changes.

Make customizing your game not immediately save/launch the game
I clicked on 'Urban Fantasy', picked out a name for the game, clicked on the pencil to edit it. Typed it in, clicked "save" and without an opportunity to customize anytihng else, the game saved.

Tell me what video system I need to play the tutorial video
I've clicked on both the Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 tutorial videos. Both are black screens with a voice over. I can hear the video but see nothing. My first thought is that I don't have the correct video software loaded. Nowhere on the site can I find a "requirements to play this game" list, with links to get the correct components.

Narrator card dashboard
It would be super handy to see a shorthand summary of all the cards that the players have at the time.
So, say I'm writing a scene. Seeing in once place what they have to throw at a challenge - including how many cards they have left to play this scene - would be grand!
2 votesNarrators can now click on player icons to see the cards remaining in their hand. The Activity Summary at the bottom of the page will show how many have been played and how many are left to be played along with any challenges (in progress or finished).

Group Template for Character Creation
Before character creation begins, it is helpful to get everyone on the same page. I tried to do this in email with my group and failed. If we were sitting around the table, we'd talk about ideas and perhaps formally establish a "group template" that covered things like how cooperative we want to be, what background do we share, etc.
Storium needs something like this to establish a common theme for the group before people run off and make characters.
0 votesUsers can now use the Green Room lobby to discuss character concepts with the narrator and other potential players before submitting applications. Narrators can answer questions from players and give guidance. Thanks!

have adjustable word counts
Let me swim against the grain a little: I think there should be an ability to arbitrarily cap word/character counts for moves. That way, groups that want to keep play lively and avoid WALLOFTEXT problems that plague forum games can have the ability to cap things at say, 250 words or so. If you want a long winded game you should be able to do that too of course but I think arbitrary caps could be a fun gameplay element for people looking for a challenge.
6 votesWe’ve just released an update that adds an option to the game management page giving the narrator complete control over the word limits. The narrator can leave the word limits at their default, or they can customize them, or they can disable them entirely. Hope this helps!

Allow for card pickup on mobile devices
A player was not able to pick up a card when writing his post on his phone. He saved the draft and then used a laptop to finish / submit his post, and then was able to pick up a card.

Problems on Android
Noticing a bunch of issues on Chrome for Android, particularly when it comes to pop-up windows. Basically, when you get a pop-up window, it's zoomed in such that you can't see the whole thing. On my device, the submit button was off-screen. There's no way to scroll around or zoom out either, so my only solution was to view it in desktop mode.

Undo the ending of a scene
I prematurely ended a scene when one of my players had some ideas for an edit. Would have like to have been able to undo the ending so that my player could make revisions...

Improve the mixed small-caps logic
It breaks on non-ascii characters sometimes. I'm currently playing in a game with some norse names on characters (such as Ásviðr and Vébrandr), and on their character sheets, and elsewhere, the title-casing breaks and it looks very bad (ÁSVIðR, for example).

Featured By Storium games
I think it would be cool if weekly the Storium creators would feature an ongoing game that they find interesting and worthy of promoting that would show up in the news, announcement section of the homepage.
2 voteshttps://storium.com/games features biweekly selections by members of the Storium community of games they find compelling and worthy of recommendation to the community at large. They are also promoted via announcements on the home page and on the Storium Twitter account. Thanks!
