scene change
The control to move to the next scene needs to be a lot more visible.

Change how Strength/Weakness Cards are shown on Challenges
In my current game, we have a challenge with six open slots. Three Weakness cards have already been played, and I followed by playing a Strength card. My issue is that the display next to the challenge shows that as four yellow pips, which seems misleading to other players. The game also told me I'd pushed toward a Weak Outcome, which is exactly the opposite of what I was doing.
At least until a challenge is completed, I think it would be more informative to show the colors of the cards currently in play. Also, I think the game should…

Refill cards when -all- players run out, not just at the end of a scene.
Bear with me ... This would be an optional game setting.
Card Refill:
1. Individual, at end of scene (default)
2. Collective, when everyone runs out.It serves 2 purposes.
1: It ensures absolutely every one gets to play their cards. If you have primarily only 1 or 2 challenges per scene, the same few players, if they're quicker off the mark, can complete those challenges and thus take control of the story more often than other players, players who may not have as regular access to the internet.
With this system, limelight-hogging players run out of cards quickly, and…

Formatting Should Carry Over to Email
I'm noticing that when I get an email with a character's move, that the formatting on the site is being expressed as ''s and '*'s instead of the correct italicization and bolding.
It would be good if the italicized text showed up as being italicized instead of the asterisks.

variable challenge difficulty
Have an option that requires multiple strong cards or weak cards to "win" or "lose" a challenge. That would require players to work harder toward taking control of pivotal or climactic scenes.

Allow nesting asset cards
If I assign a character something like a backpack as an asset, it would be cool to be able to tuck asset cards inside that, so they remain concealed from other players until the bag is used and one of the cards/items within is pulled out. It would save on the back and forth required in assigning a Sealed Item and then assigning its contents separately later on.

"To the Top" function
In the mobile set-up specifically you can scroll forever and not find the bottom or the top of a page but there can still be a lot of scrolling in the browser as well. I would like to see a "to the top" option after each person's post and at the top a "To the Comments" and "To the Bottom" option as well as a footer with a link to the home page in it. These options will make site navigation easier on a mobile device and in standard browsers.

Allow narrators define non-objective "goals" in a scene that reward players roleplaying
Midway through a scene, https://storium.com/game/the-tarland-mystery/chapter-1/scene-1, the players had successfully saved the train so I wanted to entice them to post entries that added to the story in colorful ways (e.g. Having a good time, getting tipsy, talking with a stranger). The stuff that really gives life to the adventure.
So I laid out goal cards for them to pick up. But really what I wanted to do was create an objective that did not require for them to play a card. Simply write add an entry that encompassed one of those objectives. When they post they would say that…

Allow Narrators to change Card Types
There are some existing Nature Cards that I want to use as the basis for NPC Character Cards, but there's no way for me to change the Card Type, and I don't want to recreate the entire card from scratch. I'd like to have either a drop down when editing the card (for Narrators only) or be able to drag and drop the card into a different card section.

make world banners on "Start a new game" page smaller
Given how many worlds were unlocked during the Kickstarter, it might be a good idea to make the banners on the "start a new game" and probably the games being played/narrated pages smaller to accommodate the number of worlds available to choose from. Maybe 3 columns wide instead of two. This suggestion doesn't affect the banner width on the actual storium game page.

YouTube embeds
It would be a very neat tool for conveying mood, atmosphere, information, or just background music if YouTube videos could be embedded within posts. I use it often in a play-by-forum game running on Vanilla.

Allowed to make character sheets
To help the narrator keep track of character they make in the game and for the players to monitor how their characters grow and develop.

Have an ooc commentary panel for each Move.
First: How do we disable the email for the commentary, or at least make it so we don't get as many? It's a bit spammy. :/
Which: Is there a way to have commentary for specific moves? Or some sort of "like" button? Maybe a "woot" button + 128 characters?

Add a random character button
Create a process that skips part of character creation by randomly selecting a Nature, Strength, Weakness, and Subplot from the story's defaults, leaving it to the player to explain these selections on their bio. Additionally, add a story setting Narrators can set that makes a given story require only randomized characters, so characters in that story can not click change, edit, or create new for their cards.

Allow challenge point overrides
So, I understand that you usually only have three points per player per scene. It would be nice to allow a Narrator override if the fiction warrants or the players choose.

Give instructions on the rules of improv
Add something to the "how to play" instruction that talks about the rules of improv, specifically advice to use "Yes! And..." in each move. This will encourage players not to negate scenes others have set up and it will also reduce the number of moves that are really just empty moves where nothing happens in the story other than a card gets played.

Better system for reading Games
Just tried out the 'Favorite' on one of the games. The 'Favorites' screen doesn't seem like it would be very easy to keep track of if you follow multiple games. Perhaps something like a list of stories that you're reading, with a couple graphic flags that marked when there were new players or moves? That way you could tell at a glance if a story had updated and what. Visiting would show you what those updates were.

show characters as 100% when complete rather than 95%
After filling out all the cards, adding a description, adding an image (with attribution) and a note for the narrator, the character is still shown as 95% complete.
I spent a minute looking around for other things to fill out before I decided to just hit the submit for approval button anyway, which bumped it up to 100% complete.
1 voteThanks for the feedback. Ironically, what you describe is how it used to work — it used to read 100% at that point. But the problem was that a large number of people interpreted that to mean that they were “done” and didn’t realize they still needed to hit that final button to actually submit their character. So we seem to have confusion here either way! :)

Trap Cards
Something that looks like an asset but becomes an obstacle when picked up. It'd work well for many different situations and would be a fun little trick for the narrator to use.
