  1. provide a way to fix mistakes when handing out cards (like removing said cards).

I accidentally provided some Goal cards when I meant to provide Assets. It'd be awfully nice if I could fix this rather than just making my players kludge their way through.

(It's such an easy mistake. Just click the wrong button to create a new card, and then the UI is identical.)

  2. A wiki pages with some tips for narrators on how to work special mechanics into the system.

For example, one intuitive Narrator created a game where each player played an entire faction, and each card represented a personality in that faction. This would be a GEM of a tip for new Narrators.

There are a boat load of other great ideas like this just waiting to be developed and show to the narrator pool.

  3. Character Obstacles should get cards to play on obstacles

The idea is that Character Obstacles are basically Characters with cards and the narrator can have them spend points toward a 'Tragic' or 'Selfish' outcome.

Perhaps in certain circumstances they can take actions which -steal- the challenges right from under the players noses.

  5. Allow syncing games, not just cloning

Say I'm playing a game, then I clone the game to start another game with other people. I might create more cards in the first game, and other different cards in the second game. I'd like to be able to copy all the new cards from each game over to the other in one transaction.

(Best not to worry about cards I deleted from one or the other campaign. I can always redelete any cards I need to if I have to.)

  6. Secondary email account?

I don't know if this is even going to be possible, but I'd like to be able to host games under a secondary email/handle. I write some stories under a pseudonym, and I'd like to be able to run campaigns based on that pseudonym without people who know me by that pseudonym learning my real identity.

I suppose I'll probably just end up having to shell out for a second Storium account under that other identity. :P

  7. stop closed games from emailing the narrator

After finalizing a game, I would expect that Storium wouldn't occasionally send me emails reminding me to start a new scene

  8. Home Screen Shows Games with Recent Activity

The home screen's static list of Games You're Running and Games You're Playing is less than helpful.

It would much, much more useful if the games were listed in order of most recent activity. Bonus if you can highlight or otherwise indicate that there has been activity on this game since I last viewed its page. That way, when I come to storium.com I can see at a glance what games need my attention.

  9. Games rating on join page

It would be helpful to put an optional movie style rating system (G, PG, PG-13,R) descriptor for each game on the Join page. It would help folks determine if they wanted join a game or not, and should be fairly cosmetic.

  10. Players can request revisions

There should be an ability for the players to request revisions. Either because of it's something that falls under gross misconduct by the storyteller, or to request that the storyteller make something more clear.

  11. Allow narrator to review all character profiles on one screen

It's difficult to compare the characters against each other with the current setup. Maybe enable something where you can view three-four character profiles horizontally across one page? The one at a time review system is good to keep narrators from accidentally declining a profile they wanted to keep, but it's hard to manage when you have an excess of profiles.

  12. A separate section for cloned story setups

I think it would be nice that after cloning a story, the clone goes into its own section so its not confused with the original story. It can be removed from the 'Clone' room after the name is changed or the game starts.

  13. Viewing cards on the iPhone

I was reading a few of the games that are being played and I had some issues using my iphone.

I had a little trouble with viewing any of the cards in a particular scene. The first issue I had was figuring out how to close the overlay. I kept trying to tap outside the overlay to close it - it took me a bit to realize the link to open the card would also close it. Perhaps a standard 'X' in the overlay to close it would be beneficial to users?

Additionally, I noticed that when turning a card…

  15. Give Narrators more control over game functions and player decks

Narrators need the tools to enforce rules and take corrective action when mistakes or bugs occur, as well as the ability to create simple programs or scripts that restrict players or provide enhanced interactivity, preferably represented by visual queues that keep it all as simple as possible.

    This should include:

-adding or removing cards at will from a player's deck
-unrestricted posting of images and the ability to resize them, or a thumbnail with larger version embedded in a link
    -narrator only spell/grammar check ability
-interactive components, such as dialogue trees, coin flips, branching storylines
    -dice added as a supplement…

  16. Put "next page" and "previous page" BOTH at top and bottom of browsing screens

Just for ease of use--if someone is, say, looking only for games based on the Cyberpunk game board, they might want to CTRL+F for "cyberpunk," and if they don't find it, it'd be smoother to just be able to click "next page" without scrolling all the way to the bottom.

  17. Updates be sent via twitter, gchat, or some form of instant messenger

Updates come in email and are quite useful. However, they are also intrusive. To me, an email is a "big thing" where twitter or a message is a "small thing".

    Allow updates via other methods.

  19. Setting for move control

Each game should have a setting for how many moves a player is allowed until they have to wait for everyone else to make at least one move.

This might prevent the game from being "spammed" by those with way more time on their hand than others.

For example, I work a 12 hour shift, and by the time I come home, a lot has happened in the games I play in. Every twenty minutes, I get an email saying somebody has made another move. This might go on to a point where my character can't fit in anymore, is…

  20. Make the interface arrows stand out a little better

One of my players who came in at the second scene didn't know there was any way to go back to the first scene, because his eyes passed right over the grey arrow that blended into the background. Maybe a brighter color or something? And/or a caption "Previous Scene"?
