Have a "Yes, and..." Option
In improv theatre it is a common rule that one person cannot counteract the ideas of the other person. It enforces the common goal to tell a story together. The request for revision goes very much against the sentiment, and I DO understand where it is coming from — After all it is all based on the narrators base effort to create a cohesive story. What I would suggest is a toggle for the overall story, so when you invite players you can communicate that there are no revisions and that everyone has to do his best to tell a…

Allow Narrators to put a maximum cast number on public invites
Lots of people are going to be keen to play, but if there's a sudden influx of players to a story it might end up being too crowded, or the narrative might get repetitive as people try to introduce their characters. If people knew upfront how big the game would get it might be a bit more manageable.
4 votesNarrators can now set a target number of characters for open games.

Include total game wordcount.
Right now you have us these stats:
"This game started
May 9
and has had 4 scenes,
50 moves,
and 230 comments."We are comparing our interactive game to the monumental task of finishing a NaNoWriMo challenge.
Since you are tracking word-count anyway as we write. It'd be nice to see our TOTAL word count for our story, at a glance.
1 voteGame information now displays the wordcount for the entire game. Thanks!

Allow players to edit cards before a game starts
When you invite players to a game you don't have a lot of options as narrator. There should be a reject and revise button on characters, or allow players to edit their card choices before the first scene gets set.
4 votesWhen an invitee submits a character, the narrator can request revisions.

Tell us more about why cards help
I often have trouble explaining to my storytelling friends what Storium does, not because of the mechanics but because they don't really grasp how cards help to enrich the writing experience. What I would like is a little more detail explaining not just what cards are, but how their presence helps.
3 votesThe Player Guide has a section on cards and what they bring to Storium: https://storium.com/help/basics#story-cards

Add a new notification
A story I was participating in disappeared... My notifications history show nothing on it. If the narrator deleted the game, should there be a final notification and why is the notification history on the deleted game not preserved?
1 voteNarrator can no longer delete games outright. Instead, they can “suspend” them, in which case the game is halted but nothing is deleted or removed. Everyone gets an email when this happens.

"contract" for narrators
It would be great to have a space for narrator "house rules" or conventions. You can have a boilerplate on how you do things and send it to people in your game when you start. You could also have multiple contracts, where you have different ones for different games or style of games. Another way to think of the contract is sort of like a "style guide" for the game.
"I want to make this story very hardboiled and low magic", etc.
5 votesThe Green Room has a space for Host Rules where narrators can set out any expectations prior to game start. Thanks.

Allow players to contact the narrator in private
This would be a good idea to double check whether a move will ruin plot ideas before making it, or to discuss subplots without it being visible to everyone, or indeed to discuss issues with other players and how to deal with it.

Show a notification when a player is currently working on finishing a challenge or character card.
It is really frustrating when you are finishing the objectives of a card and are able to take control of the story, write it all out, and then notice that someone just beat you to it. So then you have to delete everything you just wrote and then decide on a new move. If there was a calling dibs system or a way to put finishing a card on hold while that player wrote their move, that would be awesome. It's very sad to have to erase and not use your writing and then take the time to do it…
6 votesThere is now an automatic notification to show if any player is viewing the game page, and if they are currently writing a move. Comments also update in real time so you can check in with fellow players to coordinate moves.

Adjustable settings
It would be nice to be able to let the narrator decide if more than 3 cards could be played in a scene. or even that multiple of the same goal could be played in the same scene. Why are these settings hard coded?
3 votesNarrators are now able to vary the number of playable cards scene-by-scene, between 1-5.

Allow the Narrator (at least) to make OOG comments on scenes.
When creating a scene, it would be good to allow the narrator a way of making some comments that aren't part of the story. A few sentences to set the scene are good in-game, but I'd also like to state what I want the scene to do, which is out-of-game commentary.
For example, I created the first scene of my cyberpunk game in the nightclub, to allow the team to meet each other. I'd like to say that the scene is here for players to introduce their characters, and form up as a loose-knit group.
2 votesEach scene has a comments section which can be used to communicate to the players.

clear way to access commentary notification besides via the email updates
If people include commentary on character acceptance, etc, from the looks of things the only way to access that commentary is if you get the emails. I wanted my emails set to twenty-four hours, so even though I know my character was accepted, I won't be able to see that commentary until later.
If there is a way to access commentary notification, it's too hard to find and doesn't make sense with the current website layout.
2 votesNotifications are now listed on player homepages as well as the following page: https://storium.com/notifications

Give some sort of warning or feedback when a game is deleted
Having been playing a good story for a while, I suddenly logged on to see it's no longer there, no warning, no message given etc.
So at least have the narrator send out a message to all players saying what happened and why, perhaps even include some sort of option for another narrator to take over the game if the original one doesn't have time any more.
It's sad to just lose something you've been working on and enjoying without even a warning or a chance to save anything.
Cheers

Fix Abagail Wright's character card screen shot in the GM Tutorial
On https://storium.com/how-to-play/starting-scenes, Abagail Wright's card has that name, but the name is misspelled in her description.

Ability to Request a Story
One of the tabs in 'browsing for stories' can be story requests, where you apply to be the narrator of a story instead of a player.
This would be useful for people with no ideas for what to start a story about, and people that have story ideas but don't want to be the narrator of it.
1 voteThe ‘Looking for Group’ forum is a perfect place for potential narrators and players to meet and discuss games! https://storium.com/forums#/category/lfg

Editing Outcomes
You can edit character cards quite easily. But there doesn't seem to be a way to edit the outcomes on a card. For example, I changed the "Sir Gwendolyn" card to "Sir Gwydion", but I wasn't able to change the name in the outcomes from "Gwendolyn" to "Gwydion" to match.
1 voteCard outcomes can now be edited by the narrator.

Let us join games with new people
My friends aren't into rp or fic so I have no one to start with. I want to have an option to play with others from this community

Have a settings page for frequency of notifications.
It would be nice to be able to specify how frequently one would like to receive email notifications of the ongoing game. (Right now I'm getting a steady stream of 1 every time there is a comment, which is a bit much.)
1 voteYou’ll find these settings on your Profile page. There is also a link at the bottom of every notification email that takes you to these settings.

Remove email from list after you delete it
When I invited someone through a misspelled email address I deleted the invite, but their email stayed on the invite list, simply saying 'deleted'. Deleting an email address invite should make it not be on the list anymore.

make challenges and posts editable during play
Just found out there is no way to edit a challenge as one of my players alerted me that both outcome texts were identical. Would be useful to make it editable so you can get rid of those errors.
2 votesChallenges and narrator posts are editable at any point during a scene (unless editing the challenge pip count would force a challenge completion).
