commentary visible only to players
I would really like to see commentary only visible to players, rather than storium readers not playing in a particular game!
1 voteThat’s actually already supported — it’s an option each narrator can select from their “manage game” page! :)

Tag a game as NSFW immediately if the narrator does so.
Right now, to be tagged as NSFW, a game has to get multiple tags from various viewers, which makes sense. However, some games are obviously going to be NSFW (with violent or erotic content) from the very beginning and the narrator states as much even on their recruiting page.
Perhaps, if the narrator of a story tags the game as NSFW, it should forgo the requirement for needing to be tagged by multiple people.0 votesThanks for the feedback! That’s actually how it works right now — if the narrator tags their game, it is tagged immediately for everyone.

Allow linking to the game not just character creation from the browse games list.
Some games are open to new players but are currently in play. I'd like to be able to easily click to read a story before clicking to try and join. Maybe there is a way to do that but I couldn't find one from the Browse Games list.
2 votesGames in progress now have a ‘Read’ button on the banner to allow potential applicants to read through the previous scenes.

let players keep a portfolio of the cards they create
I spend a lot of time creating my characters and my cards and it sucks to watch it all go up in smoke because I don't get accepted into a story :(
1 voteCharacters that are not accepted into games are now accessible to players through a link at the bottom of their home page. This allows players to access the bio text and cards. Thanks!

Include fields for prospective players to state their time zone.
Being in a time zone wildly different from everyone else in my current game means that I have never yet been able to even attempt to complete a challenge; they are always long since completed by the time I can get online in the evenings. If I were running a game, this is something that I would want to consider when choosing players.
1 voteThere is now an optional time zone field on all player profiles. Thanks!

Remove attribution when an image is removed
Suppose I add an image to a card, and enter attribution for that image. If I then remove the image and add another one, the attribution from the first image is still present. The attribution fields should be cleared when the image is deleted so that the new image is not incorrectly attributed.
2 votesDeleting an image now auto-clears the attribution field. Thanks!

Allow narrators to set the approximate duration of new games
The "game speed" setting lets you know how often you're expected to post, but not for how long. Before applying to join a game, it would be useful to know whether you're committing to a short story that will play out in a month, or a novel that will go on indefinitely.
An "approximate duration" setting would complete the picture for prospective players. It would also make it easy for new players to seek out short games where they can learn the ropes, make friends, and experiment with different character types/settings before committing themselves to longer stories.
2 votesNarrators can now choose a story format (Short Story, Novella, Novel, Epic, etc) or pre-set a number of Acts and Scenes before opening for applications to give players an idea of the game length.

word limits on turns
Some segments just don't come out in 400 words, not to mention it's not made clear that there is any limit. Can we kill the word limit per turn, please? Or let the narrators set it if they would like?
2 votesWe’ve just released an update that adds an option to the game management page giving narrators full control over the word limits. The narrator can leave the word limits at their default, or they can customize them, or they can disable them entirely. Hope this helps!

Add a "status" setting.
Since we cannot move characters from one story to another, if we tell a short story, we must put in "intermission" scenes to drain off cards that are no longer going to be used. (I had to use 4 scenes to drain off 9 subplot/objective/asset cards when the story was over.) That way the story is still there if we want to tell another one using the same character.
So, it would be helpful to note that a game is "paused." It would also be helpful to be able to note that a story is "finished."
This is going to…
4 votesGames can be suspended (which is basically a pause) and they can be completed. These statuses are noted on the games themselves, and on the profile pages of their participants.

Sticky commentary on the top
Hi guys it would be useful to have a stick commentary section for things such as contact details, game rules etc.
Best regards Steve4 votesThere is a game information section beneath the banner that lists License, Host’s rules, Info for invitees and applicants, Card settings, Word limits and Triggers.

add an out of character discussion section to the right of the scene.
This would either go underneath the already present commentary field or it would replace it. Currently there is no obvious space for the players to actually collaborate on what cards they want to play on the scene page itself. This means that either players will have to use other software for this functionality or not collaborate at all, which is not conducive to this gameplay.
1 voteThe Green Room has a discussion tab that can be used by all players and the narrator in addition to the scene-by-scene commentary.

Remove the need to refresh the page.
I just tried playing for the first time and I had to refresh the page twice because other players had beaten me to acting in the scene. This cleared out the text field that I was editing the first time, because I had not considered copying the field down before refreshing the page as I had been advised.
1 voteGame pages now automatically refresh and notify players of new content. Text fields also autosave so that text is not lost. Thanks!

Responsive Support
Just thought I'd let you know that the informative banner at the top is causing strange issues on my iPad. It's covering up the text box. After a couple of tries opening and closing the keyboard I can finally use it, but it's a bit squirrelly.
Attached a couple of screenshots. Also, it'd be nice to have a cellphone friendly view so I can obsess about moves on my phone when I can't be at the computer. :)
0 votesThis should be fixed, but please let us know if you see it again!

Character Deaths and recreation
If a character dies, then retires there character they can never reenter the game with a different one. I don't like this, I think they should be able to create a new character in the same story.
1 votePlayers can now be invited to create multiple characters within a game. When one is retired the others can continue to play on. Thanks!

Nature Cards
Allow the editing of Nature cards -- possibly with narrator approval. Sometimes players have made typographical errors or desire to change their nature due to in game developments.
1 voteUsers are able to edit Nature cards through the character profile.

Allow a facility to edit moves after a scene has ended.
In a game I'm playing in at the moment the Narrator requested I revised a move. Before I was able to respond, we moved onto another scene and then discovered that I was now unable to do this. Perhaps a facility to be able to do this only if the Narrator approves might work to prevent changes that would have knock on effects that are undesired, but would allow the game to move on and not wait for a player to edit before a new scene starts.
5 votesIn Gamma anyone can freely edit their writing after the scene is completed.

see game from application page
If a game has already started, could there be a direct link from the character creation/Apply-to-join page? So far I think we can only get to the current game by going through a player or narrator's profile.
4 votesThe Green Room now allows applications and users to view a game in progress.

Create a "Chapter Zero" Out-Of-Context Area
Many scene comments are used either to meet-and-greet or for things unrelated to the scene. If each story had a "Chapter Zero" for out-of-context posts, the comments in each scene stay focused and easier to digest for people trying to follow the story of that scene.
1 voteEach game now has a Green Room area including a Discussion tab that can be used however the narrator and players like, including out of character chat.

Story Request Boards
Allow interested players request certain settings. Players could up-vote it, with narrators seeing that there is interest in certain settings. Setting can be selected from a list or chosen as 'custom' to simply describe the setting (dark gritty sci-fi or Romantic Comedy) as opposed to choosing one of the tropes.
A narrator could create a game and have it notify everyone that up voted that request, thus any people requesting that play-style would be notified when it came available.
1 voteUsers can use the ‘Looking for Group’ forum to post game requests and discuss potential games.
