Good suggestion, we’ll put this on our list, thanks!

Stock card images
The cards associated with the stock worlds are all "missing image" icons - it'd tres keen if there were images associated with them.
1 voteHeh, we’ll they’re not really intended to be “missing images” (more like default art) but the fact that you interpret them as such is perhaps telling! :)
We are definitely planning to provide more art choices. One of the goals of our upcoming Kickstarter campaign is to finance this!

Use the Prismatic Art Collection as a source for fantasy avatars
I love that you want players to only use images for which they have permission and rights for avatars - but the reality is the vast majority of us have no access to such images. This wouldn't be a problem except that avatars are required for characters.
I see there's already a plan to include a gallery of avatars in a future update; I'd suggest for fantasy worlds it'd be worth checking out the Prismatic Art Collection. It has characters of a variety of genders and ethnicities, all released under a Creative Commons license.
You can find the collection here: …

Rearrange moves and past moves
In writing my move, I'm having to scroll up and down quite a bit to refer to the opening scene details and past moves. Perhaps moving the "Your move" box to below "Commentary" would help.
I fully admit that this might not be an ideal layout.
1 voteAdminStephen Hood (Co-founder, Storium) respondedTo clarify, do you mean moving the “Make a move” button to a location that doesn’t scroll with the page?

Speed up email notifications
Storium is great! But it'd be nice if email notifications came quicker: right now our game is doing mostly lengthy posts, so it's not bad, but if we were going back and forth with short dialogue, it'd be cool to get those notifications immediately.

add a homepage for games in which I am a player.
As games grow, it would be really useful to be able to click on the game I play in and, instead of being brought directly into a scene, instead be brought to the game's homepage. The homepage would be the name, game blurb, list of player characters, and then the list of scenes within that game. That will also make it easy to go back and reread things that have happened, keep up with scenes in which I am not playing, and refresh myself on character bios.
I do really like the "play" button attached to games I belong to,…
6 votesThis is a great idea. We’ve long planned to add a “table of contents” view, which has a lot in common with your suggestion.

Allow me to move the character description modal
When I'm creating a character, and it's time for me to enter a description, the modal window obscures some of the cards I've chosen, making it tough for me to refer back to them whilst describing.

Change the Subplot card icon
I'm not a fan of the pennant icon for Subplot. It doesn't seem to speak "I AM A SUBPLOT" and it's a little too close to the Goal icon.
Perhaps something like a bent arrow, forked path, or detour sign might more clearly identify what it represents.
1 voteThanks for the feedback, I totally see what you mean. We really struggled with this icon because Subplot cards are functionally VERY similar to Goal cards — they are both things that your character is working towards, and in both cases you earn a reward once you play all the cards.
That said, agree that the similarity could be confusing. We’ll give this more thought, and really appreciate the suggestions.

Call out that players can't play cards without an obstacle in the scene.
I created my first scene entirely with goal cards, which confused players who wanted to play cards from their hands. If I understood that obstacles allowed / forced card play, and they understood that no obstacle meant no cards were allowed / required, that would have made the opening scene smoother.
1 voteThanks for sharing this feedback. We’ll look for ways to make this clearer!

Movable request revisions dialog
When requesting revisions, you can't see the original text, since the Request Revisions pop up is directly over it.
Maybe have it appear off to one side or as a movable dialog?
1 voteExcellent point, we’ll find another design for this, perhaps not as a modal at all.

Please don't limit us in Alpha 2 or other updates
The rules you described for Alpha 2 are neat, but not at all how we've been running our games. Please consider giving us tools, suggestions on how to use the tools, but also many alternate ways to use those tools. That's the best way you can build the biggest most diverse community. For example in my games cards are like criticals, plain and simple. You couldn't have done it before? With a card now you can. Couldn't have seen the clue? With a card now you can. I don't like the idea of players closing the story as they don't…
2 votesThank you for the honest comments and for caring enough to write us about your concerns!
When Alpha 2 launches existing games will be unaffected and unchanged, so your existing games will keep working exactly the way they have been, no need to fear.
New games will use the new Alpha 2 rules. When they’re ready I hope you’ll want to give the new rules a try and let us know what you think!

Commentary comment box too small
On the main page for our game. This is about the Commentary area on the right side of the screen.
The box should be expanded down more or at least grow as I type. It doesn't show very much while I'm entering in Text.

"Like"-ing moves, scenes, characters, etc.
I think that it would be neat if there was a like button on moves, so that you could show other players when you liked what they were doing without having to write a comment.
It would be gratifying way of telling people to "do more of this".

Thanks for the feedback!
Just wanted to make sure you saw that you can write and save scene drafts? That allows you to write the next scene before publishing it.
If you’re talking about writing scenes that are further into the story’s future — say, beyond the next scene — that seems difficult since the narrator doesn’t yet know what the players are going to do next, right?
Thanks for any additional thoughts on this…

Dice Roller App?
Any chance of getting a Dice Roller App? Set the Die size (D100, D20, D12, etc) and the number of rolls? I'm thinking of cases of Writers Block or Creatively Got Stuck, rolling the dice for a random event, check percentages of things actually happening. Can't plan the fight scene? Dice war it.

implement a "bulk copy" button.
A method to make multiple copies of one or more cards would be great.

Allow editing of the "poke" message
The "poke" feature is handy, and the email that goes out is serviceable, but sometimes I don't feel that "holding up the action" is the way I want to phrase my notification. Any chance the poke function could provide an editable text box?

Allow people to browse and share cards from other games
Along with the privacy controls some others have suggested, I think it would be super cool if you would enable a searchable catalog of cards across all genres.
Like if I need an "Arrogant" card, I could browse all of the cards storytellers have permitted to be "re-used" and choose the one I like best.
12 votesAgreed! In the future any narrator will be able to create a world out of their game and share it with anyone on Storium.

More Card Slots at Character Creation
I like the way that you create characters right now, in that you pick your archetype and your strength and your weakness. But I was wondering if there was a way to pick more cards at creation. Maybe just have it be something the narrator can set when they start the game. "Players are allowed to start with this many cards."
I assume that once the game starts a player can accumulate any number of cards, but starting off with a couple more could change the tone of the game... and being able to start with five cards would make…

Include default portrait options with settings
Since a portrait is required to submit a character, having a handful of options unique to each setting would be helpful. It might also be expensive to create that library of images.
2 votesGreat idea, thank you! We’re planning to build up an art library (probably as part of an upcoming Kickstarter campaign), but I also like the idea of including default character portraits as a part of the fictional world itself. That would be really useful.
