  1. searchable cards

When you grow your story with your players, over time you can amass quite a number of cards. It can be bothersome to find the cards you need. A text search / filtering mechanism that limits the cards you see down as you enter a text you are searching for would be very helpful.

  2. allow assets to be attach to natures

In some worlds when players choose certain natures, the narrator may want to given certain assets to them. For example a player plays a knight I may want to give him sword, shield, armor, and horse automatically.

  4. Cards text should go inline with the text for better reading and gameplay flow

The cards are interesting UI elements but make for a disjointed story experience.

  5. Allow players to diversify Strengths and Weaknesses at Character Generation.

The current system for selecting Strengths and Weaknesses is interesting, but certain advanced players might want the option to create slightly more nuanced characters from the get go. It would be interesting (as an advanced option) to allow players to begin character generation as if they've already experienced a refresh, allowing them to fill in each strength and weakness card individually.

  6. Add more space above the images

Just some buffer between the tag at the top and the image so that images that don't have a great deal of head room as still visible. maybe move the image placeholder down below the tag so the whole image is visible?

  7. Global Card Archive

Allow all cards you - as a narrator or player - edited (i.e. by adding an image and description) to be moved into your personal "card archive" that you can use when creating/editing a world or character. Same with characters you have created - much like the "choose" character screen in a video game.

  9. Upload images straight from social media

I don't know if it's plausible, but it would be EPIC to be able to simply transfer images over from existing social media platforms. Actually, updates of ALL TYPES to social media would be pretty neat.

  11. Refresh Cards as a Move (instead of at top of scene)

Refreshing your cards with no attached fiction seems really strange and hollow. This is a chance for your character to change, grow, and develop, and as such, should make an appearance in the story. I'd like to write the bits where my character realizes that they need to change tack, shift priorities, or confront their heretofore hidden character flaws.

I suppose this also applies to completing a Goal and completing a Subplot, although I haven't got there yet, myself.

  12. "How to Play" Feedback

I had a number of minor comments on the "How to Play" pages:

    • There should be an explanation of when you will receive email notifications. I think the notification system is very good, but we just didn't know what to expect when we started.
    • Please explain the "Commentary" section in the instructions (or on a ? next to Commentary). It is not intuitively obvious who will see the commentary and that it is scene-specific.
    • I didn't realize that you can make moves without playing cards or confronting challenges. This should be more explicit in the instructions as it is a…

  14. Allow Narrators to adjust the number of cards in a published obstacle

Seems there is no way to adjust the number of cards in an obstacle after the scene has been published. That can be a problem if you over or underestimated player participation, and are having a hard time meeting the challenge (and thus progressing the game).

Narrators are now able to adjust the number of cards needed for an obstacle as long as it does not force-complete the challenge. Thanks!

  15. …have cast cards flow under page header.

Currently, in Google Chrome for Mac, the cast widget flows up OVER the Storium header, where the rest of the content flows UNDER the page header. Attached screenshot for your review.

  16. Make the purpose of card stacks clearer.

When adding cards to a scene, it's difficult to understand what the number of cards in a stack means -- either as narrator or player.

As a narrator, I thought my players would be able to split the stacks. As players, they thought they'd be able to take as many as they wanted. Seems like the reality is between, where a player must take an entire stack if they take anything?

Thanks for this feedback. We used to have more language in the product explaining this but removed it because users complained it was too much. Guess we took it too far. :) We’ll figure out a better way to explain this!

As for the specifics, a stack of cards can’t be divided. Each card in the stack is a time that the player can use it in a scene. So an Asset with 5 cards can be used 5 times before it is no longer available.

  17. Gradual Card Limit

I've noticed that large-challenge scenes often drag on, while short ones lack impact.

What if: at scene start, players each have a card limit of 2. When the Narrator Continues, that goes up by one.

If a scene is really dragging (because e.g. some players feel like their character can't contribute, or a player is having time-availability issues), the Narrator could continue (possibly dropping an Asset or two) and let the other players wrap up the scene in a satisfying way, rather than having to end the scene unfinished.

Sorry for your trouble! Note that in portrait (tall) mode on the iPad, you have to actually hit the “Submit” button in order to post your commentary. It doesn’t automatically submit when you hit enter. Did you maybe overlook the submit button?

  19. Allow Narrator to modify Strength/Weakness Limits

So, I realize that this would unbalance the game as it currently is, but one of my players really doesn't like that you can only have (at most) 3 strength and 3 weakness cards before wild cards.

As the game currently is, you need to play all six of these cards for a refresh, so I really dunno how well it would work.

  20. Allow splitting of a deck in case the item is a gun or magic wand etc

I gave a pistol (card x5) to a player. I stated that it has 5 bullets. I would like for him to be able when he shoots the 5 bullets to still have the pistol card as an item
