I like the idea of weighed Assets. However, they should be renamed, so positive Assets could remain Assets, or could be called Benefits, Bonuses, or something similar. And negative Assets could be called either Hindrances, IOU's, Penalties, or some such like. Since frequent use of Assets is a hindrance towards a character's development, they shouldn't affect the flow of the game too much, since player who play them often, will stall their character and won't refresh their cards as often. However, these cards can make the flow of the game go more smoothly. And are very useful from a narrative point of view.
