Make it clearer that the cards are for narrative assistance only.
The Strength / Weakness mechanic seems to be the only quantitative way to manipulate scenes, and that should be obvious to both players and narrator. As it is, one of my players has no idea what to do with the cards (especially in a scene with no obstacle).

Split Scenes
I would love an option to have multiple tabs in one scene!
On each tab would be characters who split off from the main group to pursue a different plot in a different location.
For example: You want some of your sci fi crew to explore the Electro-club to follow a lead while the others deal with a galactic senate gathering.
The multiple tabs would allow players in each scene to follow along without missing out on their own screen time.
Thanks for this awesome game!

We hear you, and you are not alone in wanting this! :) It’s a pretty hairy technical and design challenge so it may be a bit longer before we can get to it, but it is definitely on the list!
In the meanwhile, one trick I use is to insert horizontal rules (“
-” in Markdown) to visually divide up the scene between the groups of characters. -
Revising moves
As we feel out the new system, a player made a move that didn't include a card. I thought a card would be appropriate, so I asked him to revise it; he reported that he couldn't add a card to the move after it was submitted.
Is this correct? If so, I think that should be changed; players should be able to change card play decisions if the narrator asks them to revise their move.
If that's wrong, and he can change the play, can you point out the method? And consider making it more obvious and intuitive?
2 votesWith the launch of Gamma, this issue has been largely addressed. When editing a move, you can now add or remove cards. The only limitation is that you can’t change the cards played if your change will affect something someone else already did later on in the scene.

Allow users to be notified in Commentary
Perhaps an @username or @charactername could ping them especially?
1 vote@-ing a user in the comments will send them a notification (if they have that option turned on within their preferences). Thanks!

allow in-progress games to remain open to players
right now it looks like as soon as a game starts, character creation is closed. As a narrator, I'd like to get a game started and still allow some friends of mine to join as the game goes on.
1 voteYou are now able to open applications at any point in a game, including after it has started. Thanks!

manage creating new characters after the old ones die, so i can keep participating in the story
As far as I can tell, when my character dies, I can't create a new character in that same game...aside from changing the name, image and bio of the existing character...the problem with that, is that I'm still stuck with the original cards...
Perhaps I've got this wrong and I'm missing something. If there's a way to do this currently, please let me know. Thanks.
great site!!!
5 votesIn Gamma, narrators can invite players to create more than one character in the same game.

Allow multiple simultaneous responses to a scene.
One of my players is annoyed that, while crafting their response, another player has responded in a way that means their own no longer makes sense.
It would be nice if multiple responses could be given to the same scene prompt, and then one or more could be "blessed" (potentially with player / narrator vote) and the others revised or pushed down.
1 voteClosing this ticket because our attempted solution is covered by a different ticket. We are planning to show you when other players are online and typing. The idea is that you’ll know that someone else is working on something at the same time that you are, and you can chat about it live in the commentary. This will hopefully reduce cases where one user makes the first move in a vacuum and unwittingly treads on someone else’s work in progress….

Allow people to see their games from their profile.
It seems that "The games you are narrating/are playing" should be available under profile, as well as on the front page.
1 voteLinks to games you are playing or narrating are available under your player profile. Thanks!

example scene
It'd make the game easier to understand if you could have a simple sample scene that goes from start to finish as a guide
4 votesUsers can now play through a player and narrator tutorial here: https://storium.com/help/tutorials
This will allow users to walk through the Storium mechanic in a more organic way.

Allow a scene to be resolved by one of many obstacles
So, as a narrator, I'd like to offer an option to my players to take the story in one of several mutually exclusive directions.
It seems like a good way to do that would be to offer multiple obstacles - whichever one gets resolved first is where the story actually goes. And I'd like to leave one or more obstacles as unresolved.
Maybe this is possible already, but I don't think I've seen how. Could be I've also missed the point of the existing features.

Fix typo on Managing Play page
http://storium.com/how-to-play/managing-play#
First paragraph of "Ending a scene" section: "prohibits and further moves" ought to be "prohibits any further moves". Cheers!
1 voteFixed, thank you for the report!

Bring back the house rules option.
The house rules option seems to have been removed from alpha 1 to alpha 2. I use that to explain how some of the Strengths work.
1 voteNarrators are now able to list Host Rules in the Green Room for their games. Thanks.

Allow users to view Narrator's Profile
Much like we can view other cast member's profiles through their character in the game, it would be great to be able to view the narrator's profile as well.
1 voteIf you click on the game’s banner, a drawer will open with all sorts of good info inside, including a link to the narrator’s profile!

Let me see what my game looks like to players
Loving Storium at the moment. Having made my own game, I put a fair amount of effort into worldbuilding, and sent out my invite links... but I only realised afterwards that my players wouldn't be able to see that world-building.
Obviously, this is me learning about the system. But I'd like to be able to click a preview link to see what my players can see when they accept the invite, so I can work out how much of my setting they can see and adjust my cards accordingly.
Or maybe the option to show them a selection of cards…
1 voteNarrators can now use the Green Room to fill out information for potential applicants, and are also able to make cards visible to users in order to give a flavour of tone.

Typo in narrator response text
On the narrator response to a scene text there is a typo. At one point it says "let" where is means "left".
1 voteDoh! Thanks for the report. This will be fixed shortly.

Provide alternative in-game rewards for good narration.
One player gave a great response to the prompt, but the only way I can reward them as narrator is to give them a card. The other players can't reward them at all. It'd be nice to be able to even up-vote a response, to show appreciation for it.
1 voteThanks for the feedback! Totally hear you. I’m marking this as closed simply because we already have another suggestion open that overlaps (“Let players award Karma to each other”). This is something we are going to do as a part of additional social functionality that is coming to Storium soon.

Bug with displaying cards when no named strengths are left
I have one Wild Strength, one Wild Weakness, one Named Weakness left.
In the Cast sidebar on a scene, only the two weakness cards show (there's no problem playing any of them)
1 voteThis is now fixed. Thanks again for the bug report!

Defaults for stock card images
Some of the other icons from http://game-icons.net might be good choices for the standard cards.
1 voteThanks, we know about game-icons.net — it’s pretty great!

allow people to play multiple characters in one game
So far, there doesn't seem to be an option for one user to play multiple characters. Some of my friends are having issues with this and will have to make multiple accounts in order to play all of their characters. It would be nice to allow players to play multiple characters. All in all, I really love Storium!

add a "concluding paragraph" field when choosing to end a scene.
I really like being able to describe the outcome of a scene for the character, but it would be nice to be able to attach a paragraph describing how or why you chose that option, something that would allow me to narrate the outcome into the body of the scene rather than just the behind the scenes mechanics.
1 voteFYI, the newest version of Storium (Alpha 2) has this feature.
