Change the color for uncertain outcome
I'm visually impaired and running games and playing in them, and I've discovered that seeing the weak outcome is difficult for me to see. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Provide a means of tracking established facts
During the course of the narrative, facts are often implicitly (or explicitly!) established about the world. These facts do not always map cleanly to either characters or locations, and characters and locations are not always visible to the players at all times.
I would suggest allowing the Narrator (and possibly the players) to create Fact cards- cards which do not map directly to challenges, but capture established facts about either the world or relationships between characters.

Add a bit of help on how narrators create characters
Not sure how to set default strength/weakness/subplot cards for the various "nature" cards. I think this is possible as I've seen it in other games...
1 voteYou currently can’t do this yourself, but it will be possible to in the future!

Make it so you can tweak email notifications by story.
Perhaps you want to only hear from one game once a day, but another game you want to hear from instantly. Make it so!

show a short description of stories in the browse games
Nothing too complicated, but just allow a player browsing the games to know what the game is about, more than just the name and the genera. Perhaps a modal popup or an on hover, or something.

Support Robin Law's DramaSystem (Hillfolk)
Storium is already half way to being a DramaSystem game manager. With some additional systems to tie characters together and manage tokens between players most of the functionality would be available.

Character cards.
I think it would be useful if you were able to store and recover your custom character cards.
I've previously created a custom character for a story only to have it declined and lost. I would like the option to recover the character and apply it to another story.

Character creation rules
There should be more flexibility in the character creation if the narrator wants to allow someone to have 3 different strengths at 1, or more/less cards overall.

Allow Narrators to allow or force card plays to be hidden
Currently, card plays are visible to all players. Given that the player to last play a card gets narrative control (within the confines of the strong/weak ending), this creates a discentive towards playing a card first.
I believe a solution could be to provide a function for players to play cards without revealing to the group (apart from the narrator) that cards have been played. Although you can see the other players moves, and know their general Strengths and Weaknesses, you won't know if the challenge has been met until the Narrator reveals such.
This approach would obviously not always…

add notifications to the sticky top bar
Similar to Facebook. It would be nice to be able to navigate through notifications from any page. Also, being able to mark them as read/unread would be great. In general, the notifications need a lot of work.

Limit the amount of pending applications
Most of the time I am applying for a game, spending time in designing a character, and then ending up getting my character rejected due to "too many applications".
Is is possible for the narrator to limit the amount of "open spots"? For example, if the narrator looks for 6 people in his/her story, then the maximum amount of open spots should not be more than 6. I have seen cases where there were over 18 pending applications.

Gender select for NPC
Offer the ability to choose a gender for NPCs, and switch the pronouns automatically. It'd be convenient if, for example, in the game I'm playing, the PI, who needs to be a woman for the sake of the story, had all her pronouns automatically switched from the default male. It'd also be cool to have gender-neutral pronoun sets available to choose from.

Testing mode for Narrators and Players.
Click testing mode to try out a function without affecting the story. Tests could be highlighted ( background color or etc.) so that they are ignored by narrator and players until deleted. Especially useful for beginners to try out character generation or card mechanics. A new narrator could try out making a character in their game before issuing invitations or see how playing a card would work.

A "reply" function in scenes - to aid asynchronous play
I've noticed that many players have requested for a turn order option or some way to control how players participate, because not all players have the same availability to play on Storium.
Some enthusiastic players end up aggressively posting, while those without the time... come back to find that they can't properly respond to other players who've attempted to interact with their character.
I thought, perhaps, a "reply" function in scenes would allow casual players the option to engage in the collaborative process at any point in a scene (and not feel left out). They can't play cards in this…

Poke specific laggard
Laggard-poking implies that it will only email people who have made zero moves this scene.
But with a lot of back and forth, this counter might not email people who have already moved.
So it would be great if the laggard-poking could have a few presets: "all" "those who can still play cards" "those who haven't moved at all" Plus "X specific player", of course!
I know you're already planning to allowing editable poke text, so that's cool!

change the options for "you've submitted" and "you're playing" displays on main page
If I, say, decide to submit a bunch of character profiles to try my luck in a bunch of games that are pretty selective or getting a lot of applications, it'll be really annoying to scroll down to actually find the games I AM playing. A customizable option to change that order would be great? Or some way just to collapse the "you've submitted..." list so it isn't annoying when all you wanna do is access the game you're playing.

Show all Challenges at the top of the scene.
When the Narrator introduces additional Challenges as a scene continuation, when you want to see that status of all the Challenges you then have to scroll through the entire scene to find them all. A summary of all Challenges (those at the start of the scene plus those from continuations) would enable players and the Narrator to see at a glance exactly which Challenges are still incomplete.

list potential characters
The looking for players screen lists approved characters, but not pending characters. If it did both, we'd know not to both with a game that already has 10 applicants. You could also sort games in that view by the number of applicants.
You could let Narrator's choose their desired number, and then sort by how far a game is from reaching that number.
