Friends lists, private messaging, and other social features
It would be great if we could have friends lists and a way to private message / chat with each other. You can expand this and then let us invite others to games and make games friends only.

Private user-to-user messaging was introduced a couple of months ago! We’ll continue to expand these capabilities as Gamma progresses. Thanks for the great feedback, everyone!

On the flip side, I'd like to see a list of players that we tag as not wanting to play with again. It would not show us games they are running when we browse and warn us if that player is in a game we are considering joining.

A friends list and private messaging options (especially if it can allow more than one player to talk on the side, narrator included) would be wonderful.

Now that this is actually happening... I don't know that it needs to be voted for anymore.

Friend Lists and the ability to PM people would be really amazing, yeah. An OOC section for games would be cool too, but not AS crucial as the other two since you can use the comments for that (or hook up over IRC, as I'm used to in my pbp games.

I've been playing pbp games for years. We use google docs for the game and then use hangouts to chat and dialogue out of character.
Those are the minimum requirements that we've found necessary over years of play: game thread and also a text messenger style communication method.
I'm not sure the comment section will be adequate but it might if used sparingly. My games tend to have a lot of out of character chatter about what to do next and so on.

A forum for out of character conversations with other players would be great. Open up socializing in the community, share ideas, brainstorm and just chat about general life stuff.

I would love this. I recently had an incident where I had created a character, and the narrator closed the submissions 2 minutes before I submitted. I really wanted to take part, and would've loved for him to have seen what I came up with. I had no way to let him know.

Being able to add friends, block Jack from contacting you/viewing you out of game, PM people for private scenes... yeah that would be nice. :)

I agree with this. It would be nice to be able to keep track of people that you know if you haven't had a chance to star them and such

I would like this feature to help coordinate actions between characters, or just to connect with people I meet along the way. Per prior comments, it would also help in bringing established friends (old and new) into games.

As a very new player searching through the games looking for players, I wish I had the option to private message the narrator to warn them that I'm brand new to the game and I don't have a clue what I'm doing yet and ask them if they're willing to take on such a newbie.
I'd also love to be able to have private conversation with a narrator to include requests for certain back story elements of my character to be weaved into the main storyline, or perhaps for the narrator to request a certain role of one of the characters.

I was thinking the same thing, that way we can find our friends here in Storium and invite them to a game. A way to search for friends would be good, too.

Very much agreed!

Most definitely agreed. The stories in my group will be more traditional pen-and-paper roleplaying based, and you don't always want the other players to know what you're scheming with the gamemaste, since surprise can be awesome.

Yay, I completely agree with this!

Yes yes yes!
PM would also allow players to coordinate character stories and sort out their relationships before a game starts or between scenes. Otherwise, an option for "allow players in my games to contact me by email" in the profile would be great. -

It could also be used for trying to set up a game with friends, or idle chit-chat

Also, PMing to the narrator to ask basic questions may be preferable to the commentary section which seems scene specific. This is especially helpful on open games where you probably don't know the narrator's email address.
