User Endrosements
I'm envisioning a user tagging system similar to what LinkedIn has started using for skills. Basically, you can suggest various skill you have (and other's can as submit new ones for your approval) and then other users can Endorse you for those skills. The more endorsements, the more people agree with you.
The system could work being either open (users submitting skills) or closed (a pre-populated bank of skills to select from).
This could help other users recognize people with similar play styles as well as identifying "problem" players by their lack of endorsements.

Second Natures with character creation
Allow for the possibility of a second nature in character creation. The second nature can be a different set of cards than that in the 'primary' nature. Nature can then represent the primary attribute, such as a fantasy or alien race and the second nature is a personality type, or vice versa.

Let Narrators Give Players The Option To Refresh Cards
If the Narrator wants to start a scene out with the players fully relaxed and refreshed, then it might make sense for the Narrator to let players refresh their cards at the start of the new scene/chapter/whatever. This sort of soft refresh probably shouldn't give additional Wilds, but could probably give a player back all of their current cards.

Include a rough estimate of 'posts per day' in Speed levels.
Currently, the Speed of play is measured in number of Scenes per week. But I'd argue that this isn't a great indicator of how often players should post. The number of moves in a scene can vary widely, after all.
Maybe 'moves per week/day' would be a more helpful measurement, or could be included as an elaboration of 'X scenes per day', based on an average of moves per scene?

Links to profiles, games and characters in forum posts
It would be nice if the @JapaG links in forum posts would link to profiles. This same functionality could also be extended to games, characters, worlds, etc.

Allow narrator or another player to take over inactive characters as player characters after 2 weeks
I've heard about a lot of games getting bogged down because of inactive players just dropping out & not letting anyone know. I've seen that happen both in a game I'm playing in and may have the same issue happening with a game I narrate (the player hasn't done anything with his character in 2 weeks).
After a reasonable amount of time, could the narrator possibly take over for that character, with all the strength, weakness, subplot, etc cards available as to any other character? Perhaps an option in addition to "Retire" that pops up after 2 weeks of inactivity…

Why can we not favorite games we're involved in?

Add the ability to search the forums
With the forums filling up with posts, a search feature is becoming vital in order to find what's needed. I want to start up a new game but want to make sure someone else isn't running something similar. Right now there's no way for me to quickly search to see if something's been posted.

View all watched forum threads on a single page
Right now I am 'watching' threads in a few different forums. To see the watched threads, I have to go to the forum itself and then hit the 'watched thread' button. It would be more convenient if all the watched threads could be grouped together on a single page, perhaps a 'watched threads' button the main page.

develop an optional pacing mechanic.
Have an optional system that allows the narrator to set deadlines for a scene in real time. When the deadline passes, the scene closes except for the narrator getting to put in a closing post.

don't automatically accept characters submitted by players who were sent invitations
Just because I want my friend to play my game, doesn't mean their initial character concept will be perfect for it. I realize you have the option to ask for revisions AFTER it's been automatically accepted, but I don't see any reason why invitees' submissions should be treated any differently from those submitted through open invitations. Particularly since people are now using the forums to advertise their games and sending invites to anyone who shows interest, which is basically the same as an open invitation. Also, it makes you look awfully flaky if players keep seeing that you've accepted their…

allow narrators to place scene photos in the middle or end of their moves as well.
Sometimes it's great to place a photo at the very end of the move, as a punctuation to illustrate what has just taken place. Right now, the only way to do that is for the narrator to make a second move right afterward in order to place the photo by itself.
Just a quality of life change.

A better system for playing
So here we are, months later and still not a game. I have submitted several characters only to never hear anything or the game is disbanded before play. Will there be a better system down the road or should a paying customer, when you get those, expect to go months without playing simply because they are unable to get into a game? I know I could scan the message boards, and I have, but all with the same result.

Also, Storium’s current functionality for matching people with open games is a bit limited. We are planning to overhaul that, as well. Meanwhile, you might have better luck if you invite a few people you already know to play with you. As a backer, you can start a game and invite anyone you want. Your invitees don’t have to become backers themselves in order to play with you. I hope that helps. Thanks for your patience!

Unlimited Strengths & Weaknesses
Why limit these cards to only 3 of each? Players are already limited to only 3 cards per scene and cannot play a duplicate card when facing a Challenge, so why not allow Strengths & Weaknesses to be unlimited?
The Strengths & Weaknesses you begin with are the core concept of your character, so why not make it possible to always use them? You then wouldn't need to refresh cards in the current way and could instead have the option to add a new Strength or Weakness upon playing your last Sub-plot card. The total variety of Strengths & Weakness…

Character cloning
First let me say you have a great "game" here. I and my friends who are long time role players have had a blast so far. Thank you for coming up with this. I have a suggestion. Since most books of the type we read are in series, I am planning several books in this story. It would be nice if when a second book is in the series if you would have an option when players submit their characters they could choose from a character they have already made up.

Give each game a Links Page
This would allow narrators to provide players with a list of links to off-site reference pages for their games. Many of us use places like LiveJournal, WordPress, or Google Docs to store useful information, such as character lists, culture info, etc. that cannot be conveniently stored on Storium.

allow me to "keep an eye on" open stories
...Mind, I'm not favoriting them per se, but I should be able to do it from the "able to join" stories screen, and it should alert me if it closes or a spot opents up. I would be tracking these stories on a purely meta angle.

Allow games to be auto suspended after a certain period of inactivity.
I've been in a number of games where the narrator has announced in the comments that they are ending the game, but haven't moved the inactive game to suspended status. It would be nice if games with no activity by narrator or players could automatically be moved to suspended. The narrator could always reactivate them if this was a mistake. The narrator could even pick the amount of time before the game auto suspends during game creation.

Include an option for Narrators to link directly to their games in the Looking for Players forum
When reading a Narrator's post about a game, I think it'd be neat and convenient if, at the bottom of the post, they had the option to include a link to their game's sign-up page - maybe even a link that looks like the ones you are already using on the Looking for Players page where you're browsing the games (the game's individual graphic with the name of the game and the Apply to Join button - plus I think it would be aesthetically cool as well).

Retired characters on the profile.
A profile should have a listing for retired games in which the person played, from which the person retired.
