Show completed goals in character bios
After a few scenes, characters can have completed a few goal cards, which can have story implications. The character bio should show these completed cards, perhaps with an annotation for how the goal was resolved.

List of My Games in Dropdown Menu
Man, it would be awesome if the user dropdown had all of my games in it.
It would be super-awesome if they were sorted by recent activity.
It would be super-duper-awesome if the ones that have had activity since I last viewed them were somehow highlighted.

Get rid of automated prompts & "hey there speedy" message.
The system right now applies pressures that it really shouldn't to players. There are times when some players will need to be gone for RL issues, and having the system pester them will create stress and avoidance in the pestered player. There are other times when one player is looking to catch up with the action, and the system shouldn't discourage them from doing so. The narrator can politely ask for speed adjustments if they need to, having an automated system to nag and/or discourage them isn't a good idea.

On a player profile other than your own, sort their games by "active" and "suspended"
I've seen that you do group a player's games by 'active' and 'suspended'. That's great! It helps keep track of what game is in what state.
It would be nice if say I viewed another player's profile, the list of games they are playing were grouped in the same way. It would be a consistent UX experience when compared to viewing the games I'm playing in ... which ... are grouped.

Holistic vs "As of Now" Character Edits
Under the current system, when a player edits their character, that change is reflected by all posts made by that player, however sometimes a player wants to have their character evolve through the story and have their description/avatar reflect that. For example, one character in a story I'm a player in switched sides for a little while, switching to an alternate persona, and edited their profile to match, however, this change was reflected by the entirety of the story, all the way back to the first scene. When I first logged in after the change, I was confused and didn't…
9 votesFYI we are looking at ways to do this. One that we particularly like is to link “as of now” edits to playing your Nature card, and thus making it a big event in your character’s evolution. For example, when Luke’s Nature card changes from “Farmboy” to “Rebel pilot”, and his photo and description get updated to match.

Ability to add optional mechanics
I'd like it if Narrators could add additional rulesets to the game. Storium works great as a simple tool and I think that should remain the default option for most games - but what if the Narrator could add more complex rule sets on top of that?
Imagine the option to customize how Strength and Weakness cards work (set the default # of cards to a different amount, allow characters to have one of several different kinds instead of a single stack of one, etc). Or if you could allow Assets to sometimes produce Strong outcomes on Challenges, or if…

create a review/ratings system for players
I've noticed in a few games that some people will show up for one or two comments and then just bail. This makes me worry when I think about making a game of my own because I want good, dedicated players who aren't just going to drop group.
I suggest some sort of feedback that can be visable on a character's profile, separated by player and narrator. Maybe something similar to the 1 - 5 star rankings on eBay. Players when exiting a game can give feedback on how the narrator did, and if a player abruptly bails or is…

Re-organize Moves
I swear this was already suggested on here, but I've had trouble finding the original suggestion.
Sometimes players post things out of order - because of the asynchronous nature of the game. I think that if the narrator were allowed to re-organize the order of moves, this would be very useful. Also, the ability to reposition a move to a different scene (when necessary).
When the parallel scenes function comes in, combined with this ability to re-organize the order of moves (or even move them to other scenes)... the narrator will have significant organizational power over the entire game, being…

Storium APIs
I would love to get access to a JSON or XML REST API for Storium. That would unlock developers (like myself) the ability to develop apps

Unlimited Challenge Points
At the moment, I find that this limit on challenge points means that the narrator can easily fall into "railroading" their players to follow one linear path with a pass or fail outcome.
As a GM who likes to give his players choice, I'd like to offer numerous challenge options to players in one scene, beyond the limit of their cards, and see which ones interest them as the scene progresses. When their cards run out, the challenges that they couldn't spend their cards on will either have an uncertain outcome or just not be brought up at all (since…

Give the choice of three unique weaknesses and strengths. Also separate natures and skills.
Three of the same Weakness or Strength limits player expression and creativity. Well written characters have more than one defining positive or negative trait. Players may only play the cards x amount of times as before.
As a Narrator I don't feel it is my place to define the player's character for them by giving them additional weaknesses or strengths.
For my players I would like for them to be able to pick from a list of skills that is independent from the nature list. As it is right now they can pick either their race or a skill and…

Changing difficulty of a challenge while a scene is active
I had the idea of giving a player an asset card that would lower the difficulty of a challenge if used. A kind of one off type card that would call in a powerful npc perhaps.
Depending on the roleplaying actions of the characters I'd like to increase or decrease the difficulty of a challenge or character.

Subplot: Player Created Challenges
The difference between a goal and a subplot is typically defined as follows. A goal is a personal objective. A subplot is a portion of a story that is aside from the main plot.
Subplots don't have much to do with objectives, but are instead a way for players to contribute their own plot concepts.
This should be asserted more strongly by both game explanation and examples, perhaps even changing the way they're played.
I think a subplot should permit player created challenges.

Autocomplete User Names
In the commentary track, I am trying to speak to another player in the game with their User Name. I noticed other people did the same, but typos caused problems and prevented notifications. If it would be possible to enable an autocomplete function, for user names within the same game, that would be excellent.

Have a submit button for the commentary box
I am using a different browser than previously and I cannot submit commentary, it will not submit. This would be easier if there was a button like submit or save to enter our commentary a bit more manually. (the browser I am having trouble on is Firefox)

Collaborative Draft Editing
TL;DR - Allow moves to be reviewed/edited by everyone before final submission, per approval of the move author. Perhaps include co-authoring moves.
Generally, in a GM/Player setup, players only control their own character, while the GM controls all facets of the environment and NPCs. Storium is not like other games, though, since gameplay takes the form of writing. Players are, of course, not limited by the system to use NPCs or other PCs in their submissions, but they also aren't encouraged to, and trying to do so has some risk.
Only writing for one's own character can become very limiting,…

Implement Multi Scene Challenges
Our narrator winged that in one of the games I'm in and I'm really liking the idea as a tool. You should be able to implement big challenges that span several scenes or maybe even chapters. Players could work towards it as it comes up and independently of other challenges.
The challenge in question and a good example was survival in a hostile wilderness along an extended trip that spanned several scenes. There were other challenges to address individual hazards and obstacles but the overarching challenge would return each scene, minus the value that had already had cards played on…
