Allow potential players to ask questions to the narrator
When I'm looking at games that are looking for players, it sometimes would be helpful to ask the narrator questions before creating a character. Otherwise it would be possible to spend quite a while creating a character and then find it would not fit the narrator's expectations.
24 votesPotential players can now communicate with narrators via the Green Room Lobby or Private Message.

story description and submitted character visibility
if I submitted a character for a story I'd still like to be able to see the story description and the characters others submitted. Just the same way as in stories I did not submit a character for.

Send an email when games are deleted!
A game I joined recently was deleted in the midst of the first scene. It would be nice to get an email or a notification when this happens, rather than having the game just vanish as if it never existed.
7 votesNarrator can no longer delete games outright. Instead, they can “suspend” them, in which case the game is halted but nothing is deleted or removed. Everyone gets an email when this happens.

Reward wild cards from completed goals AFTER refreshing cards
If you use up all your strengths and weaknesses and complete a goal at the same scene, when you refresh you do NOT get your cards back. The wildcard reward prevents it.
Wild cards, and other rewards, should be given AFTER refreshing a players hand.1 voteThe player in question did not notice the “refresh” button.

Text correction on game profile "visbility"
I'm a player in a normal game and when I access the game page, that one with game metadata and players avatar thumbnails, in the dropdown info for the game there is a word spelled incorrectly. I guess "visbility" should be spelled visibility. A missing "i" after the "s"
1 voteWhoops, thanks for catching that! It will be fixed shortly.

Allow for some kind of bullying/commentary report
Unfortunately, I just had a very bad experience in two games with a narrator where a fellow player was bullied in the side posts/comments. It was very uncomfortable and took away from my enjoyment of the game. When I tried to gracefully leave, I was verbally attacked and bullied. I'd like some way to report these kinds of actions so that the offending party could be warned, with subsequent occurrences resulting in their suspension from usage. It really makes a fun and collaborative experience tense and painful.
23 votesA full Code of Conduct (including methods for reporting behaviour which violates the CoC) is available here: https://storium.com/conduct
If you witness or experience behavior that violates either this Code of Conduct or our Terms of Service, you are encouraged to report it to the Storium team. You can do this in two ways:
Click the “report” link, found in a number of locations across the site. This opens a box that lets you list your specific concern(s). A detailed report is then sent directly to the Storium team.
Send email to “report@storium.com.” Please include as much information as possible, including the user name of the party in question and all relevant information and correspondence regarding your concerns. We hope that Storium remains a positive and welcoming place for all but if you do witness any inappropriate behaviour the Community Manager is here to help deal with and hopefully…

Allow editing after submitting a move or scene
I know this has been discussed before but it is driving me a bit crazy because of my own spelling mistakes and type-o's. As an adult professional with a kid and a busy life I have to find time to post where and when I can so often when I am posting I am doing so with less 'room to breathe' than I would like (ie: trying to sneak in a post quickly to keep up the uber-important game momentum).
I try to be vigilant and to catch my type-o's before I commit them to digital paper but occasionally something…
1 voteUsers are now able to edit moves (either with a revision request during an active scene, or ad hoc in a completed scene) in case of any typos or mistakes. Thanks!

allows players to list their timezone
It would be nice if there was a mechanism to allow players to state their timezone so it would be possible to put together a group who share timezones which are compatible with other players. Sometimes it can "feel" slow if you're in a game with Europeans and you're on a US time and vice versa.
30 votesThis will be in the initial Gamma launch!

Allow nominations for "Featured" games
How are the Featured games chosen, currently? It might be nice if users could nominate games to be featured.
If it is supposed to be "Editor's Picks", with site owners/admins choosing the games, that's fine too, but I'd like to see them change more often.
5 votesFeatured Games are now updated every two weeks with community picks from volunteers. https://storium.com/games Thanks!

User blocking and rating
it would be nice to add some of the features from Xbox Live like user blocking, Rating of users and setting so can see if you want to avoid a game or not by looking at the rating you have given. I am thinking the data is private for person doing the rating.
1 voteUser blocking is now implemented.

Multiple Narrators
I think that a game with multiple narrators could be good, especially for larger games. It will lessen the load on one specific narrator, and could function in a way similar to how some D&D games have multiple DMs. One way of doing it could be to have an admin narrator, who has more power than the other narrators and creates the game. Who knows, it could make the game overall more enjoyable and open up ore possibilities!
24 votesRotating narration is now open for all games – the Host who created the game retains administration rights but the narration duties can be shared among multiple players.

Info on character portraits
It would be nice to have the character names under their portraits, and also a little indicator of how many cards they played so far in the scene (maybe 1 to 3 little circles colored green, orange or gray based on the type of card?), this way we don't have to read the whole scene every time we need to figure if a character is done playing cards for the scene.
1 voteThe Activity Summary at the bottom of the game page now lists how many moves and cards a character has made/used in any given scene.

Allow non-members to read public games
I have a few friends who wanted to follow a story I am currently participating in, but they cannot do so without a Storium account.
35 votesNon-members are now able to read public Storium games. Thanks!

Allow for private messaging of narrators and players within a game
This would be different from messaging someone on a friends list; I would like to be able to click on my narrator's name and tell them something in private.
7 votesIn Gamma every character sheet has a private commentary track between that player and the narrator.

Create a way to pause characters
One of my players needs time away from Storium in order to deal with Life, and it would be great to be able to pause his character until he gets back. "Retire" wouldn't work, since he will be returning, but it would be great to not have to juggle who has already played what cards and so how many challenges can I play before turning to a new scene.
1 voteRetired characters can now be unretired so if a player returns they are able to re-enter the story. Thanks!

Optional form for narrators looking for players
Some basic information about each game would help players a lot.
- Turnaround time
- Any requirement for tense & person
- Is narrator going to use challenge cards, etc?
- Limits on creating your own cards
Obviously I don't want the whole story description to be a form; a tiny break-out box is about right, I think
1 voteNarrators can now use the ‘info for applicants and players’ field of the Green Room to convey this sort of information.

Level of desired narrator control
I'd love to see a field on the game setup that allows the Narrator to indicate how much control they want to exercise over the course of the game. For example, some sort of scale, ranging from "story game" level to "GM" level. In the low end of that spectrum, the players could make up stuff about the game world, etc., and the Narrator would run with it, while at the high end, players would just be playing their characters in reaction to what the Narrator throws at them. As a player, I never want to step on peoples' toes,…
22 votesNarrators are now able to set Collaboration and Game style in the Green Room to indicate to players how much leeway they have in writing and playing. Thanks!

provide an end game mechanic
My biggest fear with Storium is that it'll sink due to the same problem PbP games have always had - they don't end, they just drift into disuse. Storium could compensate by providing an end game mechanic - if nothing else, a standard way to say "This game will last about 5 scenes", and (crucially) cues to narrators that that's the normal way to do things (i.e. finite games are the norm).
18 votesStorium games can now be set up using a 3-Act format with a visible ticker at the top of the game page to track progress.
Short Story: (2 / 3 / 1 scenes)
Novella: (3 / 6 / 3 scenes)
Epic: (4 / 8 / 4 scenes)
Custom: choose your own number of scenes per Act.The 3-Act format is very popular and I believe has contributed to many completed games. Thanks!

Delete characters/leave a story
The PLAYERS need to be able to delete their own character and also to leave a story. You need an option for that. Sometimes it doesn't work out and the player needs to be able to exit the story without waiting for the narrator to do it.
1 voteYou can already do this. Click on your character portrait on the left side of the game, then click your character’s name to view your character sheet. At the top is “Retire” button. This will enable you to leave the game.

enable readers to "bookmark" the story where they left off reading.
This way they can return to the bookmark directly instead of scrolling through the entire story again.
:)6 votesGames now ‘remember’ where a user last was and will bring you back to that page when you revisit it. Thanks!
