Allow players a way to play PLACE (and CHARACTER) cards once they are discovered
Today the PLACE cards especially are just static content holders... they aren't gamified in any way.
It could be interesting to allow players (perhaps as a shared pool to avoid over use) the ability to play a PLACE card (or a character card for that matter) once they have encountered that PLACE or CHARACTER card.
For example, if you visit "The Secret Weapons Lab", it would be nice later on when encountering "Mob Boss O'Dooley" to play down "The Secret Weapons Lab", narrating "I tell O'Dooley I know where the secret lab is... and the info is all his if…

Advertisment for free to play, and no ads for pay to play?
I'm not sure why you decided to go along with pay to play, but this will limit some users that are very eager to join. I know you need the money to support the site and game but it's a bummer as well.
Personally i don't mind ad's at this point. However i love the game and my friends really enjoy the concept. This also not only has exercised writing skills but my reading as well. I'm usually a lazy reader but this has gotten me very excited and has remotivated me to read. Keep up the good work.

show all the "posts" of a character in the current story when viewing the character's details
When I look at a character's details page, it is often because I want to potentially mention or use that character for a brief moment, but I do not want to do something that is out of character for them. It would be very handy to see a list of all the parts of the story that that character has "said" almost as a log, so I can read back quickly and learn how best to treat that character.

Add an Editor Mode for "post-production"
I think a nice feature for the Narrator would be an "Editor" mode that can be used after a scene concludes. This would be, ideally, a simple drag-and-drop interface that lets the Narrator reorder the scene's moves (possibly allowing for splitting moves into pieces that retain their original authorship) to better reflect the chronological order of events. This would help resolve confusion caused by near-simultaneous and overlapping moves. The final "Narrator's Cut" would then be the last word on that scene, for the benefit of readers and as canonical reference for the players.

Disable "looking for players" when game starts
I've seen a number of games listed under "looking for players" that have obviously started and played a number of scenes. It may be that these games are still looking for players, but I think it's more likely that the narrator forgot to change the setting. Maybe the default should be that once the first scene starts, "looking for players" gets disabled unless the narrator specifically wants to keep it enabled?

Create special challenges that can only be completed with a specific asset card
As other folks have mentioned, asset cards are not very useful/special in game play right now. What if the narrator could create special challenges that can only be completed with a specific asset card? This would give asset cards more value as well as force players to use up certain asset cards at important junctures. For example, if an NPC sends the players on a quest and gives them a special key to open a certain chest, it kind of defeats the purpose of the special key if they open the chest using a "Clever" strength card. Right now, it…

A simple combat/challenge system
Something besides the simple card system. Perhaps allowing the narrator to allow the outcome of an encounter to be determined randomly but the characters and/or narrator can modify the probability by the use of cards.
This might help some players from always writing the best outcomes.

I would like for the Narrator to be able to insert scene continuation after any player move.
We just concluded a scene which was largely informational with the players interviewing my NPC character for information. I told them that they could wait to ask their next question until they saw the answer to the previous one, but they didn't always choose to do that. I ended up writing answers to several different questions in a series of scene continuations. I wanted to insert my continutation answers right after each player's move, but couldn't do it. More flexibility for the narrator in writing into the chronology of the story would be great. The scene would read a lot…

More prominently display games "Looking for players"
I had a hard time finding the link to browse through games marked "Looking for players".
On the home/root page, after I logged in, there is a prominantly displayed button that says, "Browse", but the link takes me to the default "Featured" Filter.
I am embarrassed to admit that it was not immediately obvious to me that I needed to click another link (the one leading to the "Looking for players" filter) to get to the results I wanted.
Perhaps a new styling of those filter links on the
/games
page?Perhaps a few more links on the home page…

Allow character edits before the story starts.
Unless I've misunderstood something, Open Invited players can't revise their character without a Narrator Requesting Revision, and it doesn't seem that's even an option for directly invited players. I invited a bunch of my friends and we all rushed through character creation and now it seems we are stuck with a lot of identical Strengths and Weaknesses.

Calling dibs on a scene…
I have one player (player A) who posts very frequently. He also has the most free time. It would be nice one of my other players to flag the scene to call dibs.
That way if Player B really wants to contribute, but doesn't have time to knock something out - he can pause things until he does have time.
I've asked my players to do it in the side commentary.. but a button that forced the pause would be nice.

Limit Scene Participants
Allow the narrator to set which players can reply in a particular scene. Some scenes don't require all players to be there and it would be good to have a way to limit replies to specific players and avoid wayward posts from the ones who shouldn't be there. Scenes can still be viewable to all players; the ability to post isn't.

Allow editing of unapproved characters
I left a word out of my character description and can't fix it! Can we just go update the description or something? Or do we have to wait for approval? A typo or error is an eyesore to me.

Import Text from External File
When creating natures, strengths, and weaknesses, it could be a real time saver to be able to put that stuff into a Excel spreadsheet (or other kind of document) and then import it all in one go, instead of having to do several clicks from one card to another to enter the data and then move on.

Opt out of receiving canceled character notifications
Have an option for when you cancel a character before submitting it that opts out of receiving the character's sheet as an email.

People are having trouble noticing the challenges
In two separate games, people haven't been noticing the challenges, or the character cards, and realizing that they need to click them. I'd maybe include a pop-up notification being like 'Yo! you have unmet challenges. Are you sure you want to submit?' (at that time, highlight the place they should click to address the unmet challenges / characters).
Also: I REALLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A CHARACTER THAT HAS NO ATTACHED CHALLENGE. Like none at all. I want a dumb NPC that can be like "golly jee willikers would you like some ale" without having it be a…

Change 'Natures' to 'Backstory,' or something similar
Using the word 'natures' is a bit confusing for cards that are actually supposed to describe the backstory of a character, rather than their personality type.

Option to save other users
I don't if i just haven't found it yet, but it would be nice to have some sort of option to save other players you've played with that you've enjoyed playing with. It would encourage people to play nice so they would be invited back to play other stories

Near the the button "Make another move" it would be very handy to have the number of cards you have left in this scene displayed.
