Completing a challenge is largely a matter of timing
It seems like having the last player to play a card on a challenge win control of the scene's completion makes it largely a function of who is online and posting at the right time, not the person that made the best contribution to the challenge. I suggest an alternate completion scheme (that perhaps the narrator can choose (on game startup), the 'classic' finishing the challenge or the 'new' best completion. 'Best' would require more work for the narrator, however, as once a challenge was completed they would select the player that made the best contribution to the scene to…

Favoriting Scenes
As a Storium player I would like to mark a scene in particular game as a "favorite" so that can return to the scene later to marvel at the storytelling within the scene.

Allow players to revise a character submission
It would be great if, having submitted a character and realised you'd made an error, you could unsubmit it for a revision.

Have a Delete button! (when revisions are requested)
I asked a player for revisions. He wanted to completely re-do his post, cards played and all, but after publishing there was no way for him to take back his cards played. A delete post wouldn't be a bad idea, or at least a way to remove the cards!

Move Character Icon
Hi,
Some games get complex with a large cast. When reading back over a scene, could we have the picture of the character at the top of the move clickable just like the pictures in the actual cast list at the top of scene. Then you can quickly get the details of the character. Another way might be to list the character name with their nature below it. Sometimes I first think of a character as "the Dwarf" or "the Sheriff" rather than their name.
Love your work, though. Lots of fun.

Add a random character button
Create a process that skips part of character creation by randomly selecting a Nature, Strength, Weakness, and Subplot from the story's defaults, leaving it to the player to explain these selections on their bio. Additionally, add a story setting Narrators can set that makes a given story require only randomized characters, so characters in that story can not click change, edit, or create new for their cards.

Autorefresh homepage notifications
I don't want my email spammed with all the notifications from the games I'm in, but I do like to know when stuff is moving quickly. It would be super handy if the notifications sidebar on the player homepage refreshed itself when new moves/comments happened.

Notifications list shows icons for players, characters, and games.
As a player reviewing my notifications I want to be able to quickly understand what games, players, and characters have taken action in stories.
I believe the inclusion of a small icon for each player, character, and game would assist in players more quickly reading their notifications list. As people can quickly understand visual imagery better and that it emulates the activity feed you find on Github and Facebook.

Use Nature cards in game
I noticed that is a good idea if we could use the Nature cards on an action.

Allow people to post when they are able to be active
Since it might make a difference when people are expecting posts, it would be a good idea to indicate when people are able to post as part of their profile or when their most active time is (ie, evenings from 4-10 pm cst).

Warn, do not block, older browser users.
It's reasonable to withdraw support for old browsers. It's not reasonable to completely block users from using the site. (This used to be a thing I found extremely irksome in the 90s when using Opera or another perfectly capable browser that the web designer wasn't fluent in.) I understand that there is a desire to preserve a certain amount of control over the user experience to ensure your vision is true, but blocking access is not the solution. Some people don't have the luxury of upgrading the browser they use in all contexts (be it work, a public terminal, a…

People are having trouble noticing the challenges
In two separate games, people haven't been noticing the challenges, or the character cards, and realizing that they need to click them. I'd maybe include a pop-up notification being like 'Yo! you have unmet challenges. Are you sure you want to submit?' (at that time, highlight the place they should click to address the unmet challenges / characters).
Also: I REALLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A CHARACTER THAT HAS NO ATTACHED CHALLENGE. Like none at all. I want a dumb NPC that can be like "golly jee willikers would you like some ale" without having it be a…

have a 'narrator' section for character cards
I'd like to be able to put narrator-only information on character cards (or scenes, or anything else actually). I know it looks like there's going to be a narrator-eyes-only area eventually, but it would be easier for me to be able to hide some things -on- the card so I don't have to go searching for them when it comes up in game -- like a character's full/real name, for example!

Put a clock somewhere
It would help organizing a game if everyone could see one common clock, lets call it "story time" somewhere. Timezones are a pain, and when someone says "I'll post next in the afternoon" it can get pretty vague.

More Flexible Strengths & Weaknesses
Instead of having 3 identical Strengths & Weaknesses, keep it to 3 of each card, but allow the player to choose each card individually.
Example: I'm making a character who is both Highly Observant and Good With A Gun. As it stands, I can only use one of these. Under this change, I could pick 2 Highly Observant Strength Cards and 1 Good With A Gun. If I had 3 Strengths I wanted, I could take 1 card for each and pick when each Strength comes into play. Same for Weaknesses. Or, I could still make all 3 cards the…

Choose post placement
It would be nice to be able to choose where in the scene your post should be put. For example:
Jane posts: Jane pulls Sarah aside for a private conversation.
Bob posts: Bob and Randy are busy working on making the truck work.
Then when Sarah comes in to post instead of her post just going to the bottom she could select it to come AFTER Jane's post and BEFORE Bob's instead. This way Sarah and Jane could have a private conversation without being mixed in with all the other action going on. This could potentially be a way to…

dialogue graphic design.
It would be nice if dialogue could be a different font or some other visual, slightly different color perhaps?
When the dialogue is against that french grey box, it is bit hard to pick out a glance, the quote characters can get a bit lost.... LIke, in our space game, we have an AI and a large Aligator man... wouldn't be cool if they had different fonts to gently prompt us that they are different. I would think it could work for fantasy too...elves & goblins could have really different fonts.
Not a big thing at all... just a…

A "reply" function in scenes - to aid asynchronous play
I've noticed that many players have requested for a turn order option or some way to control how players participate, because not all players have the same availability to play on Storium.
Some enthusiastic players end up aggressively posting, while those without the time... come back to find that they can't properly respond to other players who've attempted to interact with their character.
I thought, perhaps, a "reply" function in scenes would allow casual players the option to engage in the collaborative process at any point in a scene (and not feel left out). They can't play cards in this…

Have tabbed commentary sidebars that can be managed by the narrator.
And allow people who have favorited the game to potentially post in one of them (if the narrator allows it). You could also allow self conscious players to hide secondary commentary tabs.
