  1. Notify Narrator of unfinished characters

I was finishing up my description for a character and the narrator turned off invites. That is a lot of wasted time creating a character only to not even get it reviewed by a narrator. It leaves me feeling very frustrated and not wanting to continue to try to get into games.

There should be some way to let narrators know a player is currently filling out an application so they can let them finish.

  3. Strengths and Weaknesses

    Hello Storium,
I was reading the way strengths and weaknesses worked but there's some stuff that I am confused about. Is there a way to set that if a character has certain strength(s), they can't posses certain weakness(es) as well?

And if through the course of the story they posses a weakness/strength, the narrator could do an automated or set manually that a character's strengths and weaknesses will be changed?

  4. Adding Conditions or Ability to Delete Cards

We encountered a problem during in one of our RPs that I accidentally took all the items , published, but I was asked to redo it. But during our play, I wasn't able to remove the acquired item or the narrator couldn't either. Is there a way to add a conditional or remove an acquired item once it's asked for revision?

  5. Give players a way to request an author's world.

If possible, collect requests from your players for their favorite writers to be approached to contribute? Say I love David Weber's Honorverse and want to play in it. Have a way for people to collect 'nominations' for that so you can have some market research on who to approach for contributions.

  6. Bug: Reloading text in card does not enable create button

    Severity: Minor (Has workaround)
Test bed: Firefox with Form History Control (Addon)

Add new card, type title, for description use mouse to recall text from Form History. Create button is not enabled until something is entered in the description as well, even though there already is text there.

  7. Mail-in update

Instead of having to login, there should be an email api.

It would allow someone to reply to an update with a request for info, which would give character cards and the last couple updates along with the game id in the subject. A reply would allow someone to mark a card or two to be used and a text update.

  8. I want to crete characters that don't have to be part of a story.

And create various cards that I can keep in a folder and give to any character of my choosing. Basically I want to make characters that I can use to apply to any story and keep them in a folder.

  9. Create special challenges that can only be completed with a specific strength.

I want to make it so everyone feels needed and like a team without anyone like using their wit to impress a character that is only impressed by magic. Not all people are in it for the story, so are in it for the game.

  10. make it possible to move cards between games

I decided to run the same gameworld for two different groups. it would be awesome to be able to put cards from one game into the other.

  11. Link story elements

Within a world, various groups of story elements should be able to be linked, and excluded from those not linked. In other words, a character, or a type of character, should have options available that are not available to any other. Consider an IP that was developed outside of Storium. A writer creates a book series, and wants to then create a Storium world built upon it. Certain characters could be played from the series, and to match their character development in the book series, would have the option of certain Strengths over the course of playing the story of…

  12. Discount Coupons

When a game world is offered for sale, the creator should be able to provide discount coupons (including ones that would make the world no cost, i. e., free) to drive initial traffic, or be part of later marketing campaigns. Suggestions should be provided to creators on pricing and marketing, yet the final decisions should be totally in the creators’ hands.

  13. Suggestions for Narrators

More suggestions should be given throughout the “Start a game” process. One that is affecting me currently is that a person joined Storium and became a Narrator on the same day, creating two worlds to occupy her time during a spring break, then, at least in the game that she is running that I enrolled in, she sporadically drops into the game when her return to school permitted over a few weeks, then followed that with an announcement that finals were approaching, so “do what you want” for two weeks. If events happen unplanned in one’s life, it is a…

  14. Trademark legalities

Consult an IP lawyer. George Lucas had a team that kept his trademarks viable—by suing everyone who attempted to use his IPs without permission and payment. Disney, who now owns the Star Wars’ IPs, are even better known for suing everyone and their brother to protect their IPs. Eventually someone will find the worlds built on Star Wars, and other trademarked properties, and Storium will disappear as all of the company’s money will be spent defending themselves in court. You have a brilliant company, and I would greatly miss it, if it went down the legal rabbit hole because Narrators…

  15. Continuity chart.

I have seen something similar mentioned before, but I think the idea of a chart that, like the card system, you can write a 'key event' tab and then slide in the names of all the players that are aware of this 'key event' or where present in a 'key location' would be good.

  16. Setting for move control

Each game should have a setting for how many moves a player is allowed until they have to wait for everyone else to make at least one move.

This might prevent the game from being "spammed" by those with way more time on their hand than others.

For example, I work a 12 hour shift, and by the time I come home, a lot has happened in the games I play in. Every twenty minutes, I get an email saying somebody has made another move. This might go on to a point where my character can't fit in anymore, is…

  18. Updates be sent via twitter, gchat, or some form of instant messenger

Updates come in email and are quite useful. However, they are also intrusive. To me, an email is a "big thing" where twitter or a message is a "small thing".

    Allow updates via other methods.

  19. Put "next page" and "previous page" BOTH at top and bottom of browsing screens

Just for ease of use--if someone is, say, looking only for games based on the Cyberpunk game board, they might want to CTRL+F for "cyberpunk," and if they don't find it, it'd be smoother to just be able to click "next page" without scrolling all the way to the bottom.
