  1. Notification top bar

I would like the idea of a notification button or picture (ala facebook I suppose), that can light up when a new move is made in a game, your character is approved, or a new character needs to be reviewed in the game you have open. That way you know when something new is going on and have a quick way of getting to the source (without refreshing or constantly checking the homepage/emails).

  2. Lists on cards

I might want to create more detail for a place on the card itself, perhaps in list form to note significant details that are either permanent, or have changed about the place during game play for when the story returns to that place.

So far as I can tell, you can't use list markdown on place cards... a formatting help link for cards would not go amiss.

  3. Neutral cards should lead to uncertainty

We currently finished a 9-point challenge with 3 Strength, 2 Weakness, and 4 Neutral cards.

Given that 6 of the 9 cards were played towards a non-Strong outcome, why did it end "Strong"? I feel that it should've ended "Uncertain".

Otherwise, players can spam Asset / Goal / Subplot usage as a sort of filler just to reduce the difficulty of a Challenge.

  4. Notification on the tab

Like when you get a notification or message on Facebook, or new posts on Tumblr. In the Storium tab "(#) Storium" should show up. # being related to the number of moves made, new chapters, new scenes, and such occur within Sotirum

  5. Time limit for narrator before he/she can approve characters to game

Hi, I've found it a bit frustrating when making a character to a game, and in my case it takes some time as English is not my mother tongue, and when I've got it ready I'm declined by narrator because he/she has approved some other "same" character while I was doing mine. Also the time limit would be a good thing for players who are not in the same time zone. And maybe the pending characters shouldn't even been seen by others than narrator. Time limit could be something like 12 or 24 hours.

    Best regards,
    Jaakko Huhta

  6. Provide more robust typesetting options

Sometimes words can be helped by spacing and placement to communicate a particular tone.

This House of Leaves game isn't going to go much of anywhere when the only options are carriage returns.

  7. Include the character's name on "what do you do" form.

For my first post, I was vague on how I'd spelled my PC's name! Instead of "what do you do?" as a prompt, perhaps "What does [character name] do?" would be better?

  8. Make it possible to see when reading a game if the game is open to new players

If there game is open to new players, have a button below the cast list for join this game. It appears that games can start before they are fully cast, and for lots of games adding players mid game is viable.

  9. Synopsis

I think it would be a really good idea to give each world a synopsis that's viewable from the main page, as it stands just now, if you select a world the next page to appear is the current scene in progress, you have to 'rewind' to see what the story is about.

  10. Summaries of created worlds

I started narrarating the Space Adventure world, and in the beginning I had trouble figuring out what to do with it. There were these people, places, objects and so forth, but I wasn't entirely sure how they went together. Granted, being open-ended is a great thing, it might be nice for a little brief overview of what's available or maybe a suggested course of action a person could go through for their first game. Maybe not as detailed as an RPG module, but some suggestions on where to go with it.

  11. allow narrators to set their own "suggested" strengths/weaknesses for custom Nature cards

After creating all new Nature cards for my story, I found that I couldn't have suggested set-ups for players that chose that nature. It would be nice to be able to have a suggested set-up to prevent narrators from having to reject or ask for modifications to players that don't fit what they're wanting for the story.

  12. Make Notification Feed more robust

I had a game simply vanish, apparently without a trace. It would be nice if a character being narrator-retired or game being cancelled would appear within the feed.

Additionally, some games are very busy, while others are not. It would be nice if the Notification feed could simply inform me there have been a number of moves and comments in game A, so that game B isn't simply pushed off the feed forever.

Essentially, as it currently stands that little notification feed on the left is without value.

  14. Chance cards!

Like Wild Cards, Chance cards allow for someone to do pretty much anything. The difference is that these cards is that the player submits an outcome for the card player if it is both a strength or weakness. It;s then determined randomly what effect happens.

It might be good if this was then given as an option with a Narrator, when something is submitted for approval but doesn't quite fit the card used. For example, someone says that they are smart enough to figure something out with a card that is "Tough as nails" the narrator says, "No, but if…

  15. Note in the comments if someone has been poked

Give an automated note in the comments if someone has poked a player or the narrator. It can be overwhelming to have all the players send a reminder at once.

  16. Know when you've poked someone

SO I've poked a few of my current narrators, and now I can't remember which ones I've poked! It would be nice if there was some sort of notification saying, "You poked the narrator yesterday" or something. That way I don't annoy the narrator too much. Same with getting in touch with laggards.

  17. Allow avatars to be loaded from the web

Character avatar box should be allowed to load from a web URL instead of only uploads. This would be more convenient for players on mobile devices.

  18. Add a generic Supers world

I'm not entirely sure how worlds work yet, but I'm wondering whether a generic "world set" for supers (ala Champions, M&M, et al) would make things easier on novice GMs during the beta.
