  1. Let me edit a card that I previously played

As narrator I just realised that I created a challenge card with the strong/weak suggestions reversed. I've made a comment to that effect, but there's still likely to be some confusion. I'd like to edit the card, but I can't see any way to. Possibly this is because a player has already responded to the card (their response is consistent with either interpretation, I think).

  2. Option to save other users

I don't if i just haven't found it yet, but it would be nice to have some sort of option to save other players you've played with that you've enjoyed playing with. It would encourage people to play nice so they would be invited back to play other stories

  3. Opt out of receiving canceled character notifications

Have an option for when you cancel a character before submitting it that opts out of receiving the character's sheet as an email.

  4. Handle assets as a class for narrators, create instances when giving

The way assets are handled makes giving multiple assets of the same kind to different people extremely tedious. The UX is create copies that come with an edited name and to give out the asset literally.

Rather, why not treat assets as a narrator creating a class, and narrators can give instances of those classes out when hitting give? Then, provide a check mark option to either keep or delete the class after giving.

You'd have the same UX as you do now, but people that need to give multiple instances of an asset wouldn't need to go through such…

  5. Not "Kill" Characters

A game I was playing recently disbanded. I loved my character there. He's gone now. I didn't think to save his bio in other places, etc, so he's just...gone. I've learned my lesson, but I'd love to have a "retired" section on, say, my profile page so that people could see what I've played in the past/the retired characters can still be accessed. I miss my Jedi Ewok a lot! ;)

Also, can retired character be resurrected in other games? I mean, I could write a similar character, but can I use the same name? Could a retired character be…

Sorry about what happened! Until recently, a narrator could delete a game at any time, which caused everything — including characters — to be deleted. We recently changed this, so you shouldn’t have this happen to you again.

In the future (hopefully for our Gamma release) you’ll be able to rejoin a game after leaving it. We’re not sure yet about bringing a retired character into a different game, but we are thinking about it!

  7. Seeing other people's favorites

It'd be neat to view other player's favorites, there might be something that would interest you or would like to read or follow that you haven't seen before.

  8. Auto-save that is robust to accidental browser navigation

I see several suggestions for auto-save, and I wanted to call out a specific case I've hit several times where I have accidentally navigated away from Storium, causing work to be lost. It might be difficult to catch all the places where material is being drafted (e.g. custom card descriptions), but it'd be worth it.

  9. Drag and drop to add art; rename "upload image" button

The current "Upload Image" button (in several places) reminds me of a drag-and-drop target used in some modern web apps, so much that I have multiple times accidentally dropped a file on it only to have the file open in the browser (causing my work to be lost). Clicking this button actually opens a dialog with two options (upload and gallery), so renaming the button might be sufficient. A fancier option would be to add a drag-and-drop target near the button, so I can just drag art into the editor. This might also work for the gallery, as a tray…

  10. Make more options configurable

I am running a looser story than the storium structure recommends.

I have some slow players and some fast players. The fast ones tell me they are getting warnings to slow down when they try to post. I cannot find how to turn these off.

Also I want to run a scene with multiple obstacles. When the first obstacle was carded up there were prompts that the players had 'won control' of the story. Firstly that's a very strong phrase implying they are fighting me as narrator instead if working with me to create a story. You've called it storium…

  12. Smart Arrangement

If Auto-refreshing certain section of the page (like comments) is enabled, then it would be nice if I can "paint my canvas (monitor) by drag and drop with any Storium or narrator objects.

-because we could play or watch from any device regardless of monitor size and take advantage of the entire screen.

-because we could Save different layouts depending on the part/type of the story we're playing

-because we could support multiple monitors

-because we won't need a 'customized' app for all the different devices out there.

To a certain extent this is achievable by using Open Link in…

  13. Have a "view story all on one page" button for when you need to review what's happened so far

Obviously the normal view is best normally, but there should be a button to see everything in the story all on one page, from the original premise through all chapters and scenes. This would make it a lot easier to review or get caught up

  14. Allow narrator to play card for inactive player

Most of the games I've been in so far have bogged down due to one or more inactive players. The remaining players can't complete the challenges to move the story along because they have played all their cards. I would suggest that, 24 hours after a narrator prompts a player, if the player hasn't posted, the narrator can then play one of that player's "weakness" cards on the challenge and write it up, so the remaining players can finish

  15. Allow images to be added to commentary

I'm an artist and have a habit of drawing stuff that happens in the games I play. I would love to share them, but am stuck adding a link in commentary that doesn't turn into a hyper link.

A hyperlink would work fine, but it would be awesome if the the commentary could identify the link as an image and show a thumbnail of the image the user could click on to open the larger image.

  16. Allow players to set a scene or request a scene

As much fun as setting every scene is, one of my favourite part of tabletops is asking the players what scene they want next. I think the narrator should have the ability to "call" for player started scenes and then roll with what the player has initiated.

  17. Give guidelines on managing numbers of assets per challenge

The current help doesn't give guidelines as to how many assets are a good reward for any given difficulty of challenge. To avoid flooding players with cards (or starving them) some guidelines would be helpful.

  18. Revise your conflict in the example of play

In your example of play, you have a "Protect the Innocent" obstacle which has as a Strong outcome "You succeed in protecting the innocent" and as a Weak outcome "You fail completely to protect the innocent." This strikes me as, actually, being dead wrong according to the way the system is described: Shouldn't a Weak outcome mean overcoming the obstacle, but with nasty side-effects?

How is a player supposed to follow the instructions "Narrate how you overcome the obstacle. Use the following text for inspiration: 'You don't overcome the obstacle'"?

I worry about this particularly, because I think that the…
