Allow emphasis formatting in cards
I discovered today that emphasis (asterisks) doesn't work in cards. Cards have limited space, and using formatting for emphasis is economical!

Player Ranking System - Participation/ Engagement/ Ability
A simple upvote/downvote for player participation in scenes, engagement to the story, and ability of the writer would help narrators and GMs weed out potential potsquatters and dead weight. The writer turnover rate is awful right now.

Take character names out of email subject lines
After a weekend of action in 4 games, I had over 50 separate email threads for updates. Since gmail only groups emails with the same subject into a single thread, I get a single thread with each character's individual moves, which makes it basically useless. It would work much better if all of the new moves in a game had the same subject line so they would group together in order in a single thread.

Summary of Readable Games
While scrolling through the games that are in progress, it would be nice to get a short summary of what each game is about.

Allow for the narrator to approve of a player wanting to play an extra card or two past the hard limit.
I like the idea of the hard limit in order to prevent anyone from taking over the story, however in one of my current games we have no way of finishing an objective as one of the players played his character into a 'corner' and the rest of us in that scenario have used all our cards and requires me to be able to finish the scene.
I think the hard limit of 3 should be kept, but players should be able to 'request' the use of an extra card or two from the narrator with a specific action, if…

Date and time needed
Setting Date and Time for play probably needs to be suggested to players, and some sort of game scheduling calender needs to be added later. You're setting game schedules for 4-5 players. Typical appointment scheduling will need to be added at some point.

Filter by twitter follower list
I would love it if it was possible to filter by twitter followers. I am more likely to jump into a game narrated by someone I know!

Make cards bigger
I'd like to go into more detail about the NPCs in my game without tying that information to a scene. It would be great to have more room to do so.

Option to Browse Games by Genre
I'd like to be able to look through all the games made with the Steampunk world, for example. As it is now, I spend a lot of time skimming past games in genres I'm not interested in. It would be very helpful to be able to filter all or a few of those out.
(An advanced search where you can check a box for each genre you want to browse would be heaven sent, in case one wants to look through Fantasy and Steampunk at the same time, for example, but not any of the others)

Character Relationship Pages
A fellow player and I have stumbled upon something quite fun - making a private page dedicated to our characters' relationship.
We created a new private game just to discuss our characters' relationship from another game (with our narrator also in on it)... and the secrets we've developed between them are really exciting. It's actually quite fun!
It's also a great way to keep track of facts that you and that player establish as the story moves forward - facts only those two characters (and the narrator) would know.
Rather than making an extra game (like we did) or using…

Ability to look for local players, or at least players in same time zone
I am in a game that is stretched over multiple time zones, so players make their moves at different times of the day.
I wonder what the experience would be if a game could be played with all players being local to each other.

create a notes section
As a character, it would be great to have a pop up window or something that is easily accessible where we can make notes to keep track of other character elements, scene details, or anything really that would make referencing easy.
Or, if we could make private notes on the other characters cards or scene headers, even that would be helpful.
I have a note pad that I am currently using, but if I am not at my desktop, I may not have my notes with me. Having them integrated into the storium setting would be ideal.
So far though,…

Trait card
I think creating a neutral card or something which isn't a negative nor positive but still something worth mentioning might be an idea worth noting.

Copyrighted content
Add a flag to Storiums like the NSFW flag that allows the community to help flag games that might be copyright violations so you can check them out and take action if necessary.

Edit or gift a single one of an item.
If someone has 10 of an item and attempts to gift just 1 of them to another player, they gift the whole stack. Same for editing an item. If one item out of 5 is damaged, the player should be able to rename that one, "damaged item" without changing the whole stack.

Allow restrictions on story assets
often the first player to make a move is tempted to take available assets. This eliminates them from play for the other players. If the narrator could limit items to certain players or limit the number of items that a player could choose, that would help.

when creating a scene, a narrator can create a list of all PC and NPC present which appears in the UI.
of course, if there's an assassin hiding under the stair or ninja's lurking in the hedges, the narrator should have a "visible to PCs" switch.
But the feature would be useful for keeping straight who is where, beyond NPCs represented by obstacle cards.

A wiki pages with some tips for narrators on how to work special mechanics into the system.
For example, one intuitive Narrator created a game where each player played an entire faction, and each card represented a personality in that faction. This would be a GEM of a tip for new Narrators.
There are a boat load of other great ideas like this just waiting to be developed and show to the narrator pool.

Character Obstacles should get cards to play on obstacles
The idea is that Character Obstacles are basically Characters with cards and the narrator can have them spend points toward a 'Tragic' or 'Selfish' outcome.
Perhaps in certain circumstances they can take actions which -steal- the challenges right from under the players noses.
