I want to take goal cards from players
I think goal cards are weird at the moment. Players can get rid of them by playing them on challenges and are then rewarded for doing so. But players can just dump them for the reward if they're not playing honestly.
As a narrator, I want to be the one who takes away the goal cards. So when the player does something that approaches that goal, I remove cards from them until there are none left - and then the player is rewarded for reaching that goal

Make new player instructions more easily accessible
I don't know if this will change when the system goes live, but the New Player advice that is given when you click on a game waiting for players might be better served being listed on the home page. When I first got to the page, I wanted more information on how the game works than was given in the video. I found that, but I had to click on a game that was looking for players. I wasn't ready to commit to a game yet, because I wanted to get a bit more familiar with how the system worked.

Outcome Progress Listing
When you click on the squares on a challenge for your post, it would be nice if next to the strong or week outcomes would show the number of cards that are contributing towards each outcome that way we can plan accordingly.

copy and paste cards from one place to another
One more suggestion. It would be nice to be able to copy and paste cards from one place to another such as from one book to another or if a player has come up with an interesting strength or weakness, etc., it would be nice to copy and paste it into the book for others to use it.

Character cloning
First let me say you have a great "game" here. I and my friends who are long time role players have had a blast so far. Thank you for coming up with this. I have a suggestion. Since most books of the type we read are in series, I am planning several books in this story. It would be nice if when a second book is in the series if you would have an option when players submit their characters they could choose from a character they have already made up.

Allow narrators to delete games
It's great that we can retire games, but we should still have the ability to delete a game. Not all narrators are treated well and not all games have cooperative players. If the narrator wishes to withdraw the effort and be done with it, they should have the right to-- they're the ones doing the lion's share of the effort. How did this get taken from us with 10 votes?
20 votesWe will figure out a way to allow game deletion while also respecting players’ rights to their own content. This may take a bit because our current architecture doesn’t support editing a game’s history, extracting a specific user’s contributions, or exporting game content. All of these things are planned, though.

oracle
related to the prompts idea, it would be great to have a build-your-own oracle system. you could pick several elements or insert them. The system can then use the element in a question or prompt when you ask it to for a post. This can help give inspiration or twists when one is stuck on a post.

Tell the narrator the change details when a player edits their character
As the narrator I'm only told when a player edits their character. I get no details as to what those changes actually are. A 'before and after' snapshot would help me so I can better plan my next scenes.

different revisions text color
Could you change the color of the text that shows up when you request revisions from a player? Red makes the request feel like a punative measure, no matter how gently you phrase it, instead of an opportunity to fix mistakes or improve the story.

Let me copy cards across categories.
Weird edge case, but I made up a few goals and then decided they'd be better as subplots. No way to change or copy them makes me sad. I could also imagine usefulness in some cases being able to copy between obstacle and asset categories.

show the character name in commentary.
We get "(narrator)" and "(You)." I'd like "(character name)" as well. It would save the trouble of checking the side bar to make sure I know which character's writer I'm talking to.

Give the narrator the ability to reorder moves
So that you can run meetings and the like with big groups of characters and everyone can ask questions at the appropriate time.
It'd also allow the narrators to consolidate related moves and decide where you switch POV when there are scenes where two groups of characters are in different places.

allow filtering of games looking for players based on the "starter world"
It would be easier to navigate the games available based on the starter world - particularly for those of us interested in a subset of the genres available.

Automated Player "Flags"
I've played a couple games now where players have just kind of up and left, or worse, just stopped making moves without actually retiring. It can really be destructive to a game. I was wondering if there might be a way that the system could automatically "flag" repeated instances of such behavior so that Narrators starting new games could see if players could be problematic.
Basic idea: On a player's screen, the system could count:
-Number of times a player has retired from a game
-Number of times a player received an automated reminder to post
-Number of times the…1 vote -
Allow Full Screen Text Window
Many other online/browser based text editors have an option to go full screen. The tiny text box can be resized, but it is still too small for longer length posts. For quick blurbs (what I think of the twitter effect) the current box works well. However, for longer posts, it is very difficult to work within. I find (and have had others say the same) that I write in a separate text editor and copy & paste to the Storium text box. It would be great to have a toggle to make it go full screen while writing and then…

Reading View For Stories
I wish there was a way for me to read stories without all the distractions of the game cards, character avatars, commentary, etc. on the page. I think it would be very beneficial to have a better way to read a story in its entirety than the way in which the game is structured to be played. The play style works great for playing...but not as well for reading. Reading is best when it is immersive and distraction free. The current setup on the page does not support this well.
I can give you an example of how a Reading…

that player profiles report on player activity
Like, # of games played and # of moves per game/scene and other stats that relate to player activity. It makes it easier to make sure the players you're recruiting will be able to keep up with the game's pace.

Reward Good Play with MVP Awards
At the end of a game, each player (and the narrator) can vote for one other player (not themself) to receive a Most Valued Player award.
What this means is up to the players themselves, but it should be used to encourage fair and considerate play, and exciting and engaging storytelling.
Essentially, you would vote for whomever you thought made the most valuable contributions to the story overall.
To encourage commitment to stories, voting could be restricted to those players not retired at the end of the game.

Deleting a Game should clear URL
I noticed that when I erased a game to start over the URL (storium.com/game/____) isn't also being deleted. Creating a new game of the same name results in a --2 added to the end of the URL. I can manually remedy this by removing the title prior to deletion but the extra step seems unnecessary.

For some challenges, last card played selects different player as winner
As an option: allow the narrator to define a "pass the buck" challenge. The winner of the PTB challenge (last card played) must select some other player to complete the story.
