Splitting a game into two
I've heard through the grapevine that a "sequel" feature is being planned that will allow players to carry over their characters as they are at the end of a story into a new one.
This is fantastic news, but it's also come a little late for me, as I've finished "Part One" of a story, but I had to continue with the same game to start "Part Two." So instead of being able to just hop back to the beginning of Part Two, we still have to go through individual chapters to get to "Chapter 20," which is the start…

abandoned characters
Sometimes players just vanish but the characters were in the middle of a story. A mechanic where a player can be assumed to have abandoned the game, for whatever reason, so that the character can be used to quickly transfer items and/or be removed via a plot and not just retired and gone the next scene.

template sandbox
After having narrated a few games, it seems to me that it would of great use for a narrator to have access to a way to set up the next scene or act in a format that could be saved within Storium that could then be applied to the story when needed. As it currently stands (as far as I can tell) the only way to do this is to create the scene but not "Publish" only holding it in "Preview" which works because it is saved but I have been caught out by publishing in error at the wrong…

Confirm deleting cards in story edit mode when creating a game
One touch of delete deletes a card, which is next to the readnmore arrow, so missing the target on a tablet means writing the card over again.

Separate profile records for suspensions of played games and narrated games
Currently, so far as I can tell, the count of suspended games in a player's profile contains all games that they were narrating and suspended, and all games that they were playing in that the narrator suspended.
I think it would be nice to separate those. That way, a person who has never narrated before but who has been in a few suspended games doesn't look like he, as a narrator, has suspended a lot of games. The current record could pretty easily be misunderstood, leading people to potentially avoid a narrator who hasn't actually suspended anything because it…

Add the ability to mark a character "completed" instead of forcing retirement
Stories can end either by "suspension"--meaning they didn't actually reach a conclusion--or by "completion"--meaning that they did. But if a story is ongoing but a character has died or otherwise completed his story, currently the only option is for the player to retire or be retired.
It would be cool to give narrators the option to mark a character "completed" rather than forcing retirement in these cases, and have Completed characters show up on the player's profile. (I think I'd keep it just as a narrator power, but not sure on that.)
This can matter, as honestly a player having…

Add a link to each post
It would be great if each post had a url generated when the post was made so anyone could copy and paste the link to any post so others could jump to that post on the page - almost like a bookmark in ms word. The alternative when trying to reference some specific part of the story is just to manually search for it which, for longer games can be quite time-consuming.

Secret card
A card that narrator can give to one player or more without anyone seeing it or knowing about it.
It will create a “Game of Throne” kind a story
Example: Josh saw Gerard drinking blood from a man they just killed.
1. The narrator can give the card to Josh character and Gerard character, they both know that the other one know about it and it create a “cat mouse” relationship between the two, Gerard can't do much about it and need to be careful with his approach to Josh and Josh can use it to his advantage.

Consistent use of names
This relates to and generalises "Change notifications to display character name". There is very poor consistency in use of names in the game between character, user name and real name. I suggest never using real names, and always using one of "character name (@username)" or "@username (character name)" - always with the "@".
For example of the problem, I got two notifications
Keevee (Sage Hendrix) made a move in “Survivor: Storium”
then
CoffeeNinjaB8 edited their move in “Survivor: Storium”
and these refer to the same player and character!Think I may have raised this before, possibly a year ago, but…

Narrator should see characters that have been started
Add functionality so narrator can see if a character has been started by a player in their game. A few times I've made my character selection and disabled open invitations only to get PMs from players saying they had character half made, and asking for inclusion.

drop or remove assets from a character
Sometimes a character or player has to be retired. A lot of time they still have assets on them. This idea would allow the Narrator to retire a character - describe their sudden and inevitable death - then "drop" all the assets they have on them so players can no loot their corpse. A player, in addition, could also just "drop" an Asset card so it can be picked up by anyone and not handed off directly all the time.

Usability Fixes
There are a few really simple things that I'd like to see done that would help usability on the pages a TON.
1) Make the cast-characters div fixed to the side like the comments so I don't have to scroll to the top every time I want to change characters, view a character, or interact with a character at all.
2) Place links at the top and the bottom of the page that will take me to either the top of the page or the most recent move at the bottom of the page.
3) Every time a character's name…

Allow players to request a game's suspension *in the event of lengthy inactivity*
I'm in a few games where the narrator appears to have just left Storium entirely, leaving the games inactive but with no way for them to be suspended. I'd like to suggest that once a game has been totally inactive for a month - no moves from players, no scene continuations from the narrator, no new scenes, etc. (comments excluded) - that players then be able to request its suspension so it gets removed from their active lists. Storium can take a quick look to make sure it's truly inactive (though again, this should only become an option when it's…

BUG: Pressing "Edit first scene" removes the commentary input box
After pressing "Edit first scene" as a narrator, it will no longer let you type messages for the commentary on the right hand side of the page for as long as you're editing.

Private Messaging: Put the most recent message at the top
I am spending a lot of time scrolling down to see the most recent private message. Please sort the messages so the most recent message is at the top instead of the bottom of the screen.
I read a lot of short storium interactions on my phone. This will save me a lot of time.

'Tags' to Keep Track of the Players You Enjoy Playing With (And Those You Don't)
Each user could have an unlimited amount of 'tags', which they could attach to another user. These 'tags' would not be seen by anyone accept the user who had put them there.
There would be different types of tags, such as 'Undesirable Player/Narrator' and 'Desirable Player/Narrator', thus allowing Storium users to keep track of who they like to play with, and who they don't. This could help to prevent future conflicts.

Adding levels of strength and weaknesses.
Instead of having a flat strength or weakness power level you could instead have it as a level system in terms of:
-Major
-Normal
-MinorThese cards would help to give more options to players and narrators with how they react to situations. These levels would also have different impacts on challenges, for example playing a major strength card would fill in two or three pips instead of just one since its a major card while a minor card would only act as either an equalizer to negative cards or fill in one pip.

treat games like "objects": allow splitting and merging
I think games should be treated like "objects" in object-oriented programming. You should be able to split them apart and merge them together.
Say that a game has run to the point where it's evolved multiple characters for each player. You should be able to select some of those characters and export them into a new game, either in the same setting or using a new setting, and let players pick up from there. That way the already-developed characters don't have to lie fallow while the players concentrate on others.
By the same token, you should be able to import…

Give an easier way to get from the "Play" pages to the "Apply to join" page
When a game still as applications open, you can favourite it or find it from a narrator or player page, but I don't think you can find the "apply to join" page except by going back to the "browse"->"looking for players" list. This can be painful, especially when it may have many pages and no good way to search through it.
