  1. Have the option to disable comments email

    Currently there is no method of only disabling comments while allowing other messages to be real time. There should be a yes/no option for disabling comment emails only.

  3. Let narrators write a first scene before players sign up

    The way it is now people are creating characters and have no idea if they will fit into the story or not. Potential players have no idea if they like the way the narrator writes. It wastes everybody's time.

  4. Better system for reading Games

    Just tried out the 'Favorite' on one of the games. The 'Favorites' screen doesn't seem like it would be very easy to keep track of if you follow multiple games. Perhaps something like a list of stories that you're reading, with a couple graphic flags that marked when there were new players or moves? That way you could tell at a glance if a story had updated and what. Visiting would show you what those updates were.

  5. Lock moves for players after uncertain outcomes until the Narrator makes a move

    I think it would be a good idea, in the case of uncertain outcomes, to lock moves for everyone but the narrator until the narrator actually moves. This way, you won't have overzealous players continuing to narrate in the challenge when the narrator hasn't had a chance to post their outcome yet.

  6. Allow players to play Assets, Goals and Subplots without a Challenge

    I think it would be fun and mechanically useful to let a character play a set number of 'Uncertain' cards as part of their move, as a way of indicating to the Narrator that they'd like to invest mechanically in bringing that element of their character out at that time. Plus, it would let people use interesting Assets they've accumulated proactively.

  7. What are the Strength refresh options?

    They automatically reset at a scene change but can I offer other options? For example, if I give a vampire character a blood asset, could they spend it to renew their strengths within a scene?

  9. Have tabbed commentary sidebars that can be managed by the narrator.

    And allow people who have favorited the game to potentially post in one of them (if the narrator allows it). You could also allow self conscious players to hide secondary commentary tabs.

  10. Unlimited Challenge Points

    At the moment, I find that this limit on challenge points means that the narrator can easily fall into "railroading" their players to follow one linear path with a pass or fail outcome.

    As a GM who likes to give his players choice, I'd like to offer numerous challenge options to players in one scene, beyond the limit of their cards, and see which ones interest them as the scene progresses.   11. Make it so you can tweak email notifications by story.

  12. Change 'Natures' to 'Backstory,' or something similar

    Using the word 'natures' is a bit confusing for cards that are actually supposed to describe the backstory of a character, rather than their personality type.

  15. Be able to read a story/game prior to joining

    Why cannot anybody read what has been written so far by the players to gauge the quality of writing, the style and play of the story?

    You have to apply (which i haven't gone beyond yet) i don't want to commit myself to a story only to find the quality of writing is poor and has a bad narrator. Sure i probably can leave, but that might be after going through the motions of setting up a character.     It would be nice if you could have a Watchlist link below games that you might want to add either to a readlist or watchlist (which is games that interest you to possibly joining). There could be two link or check boxes for each. On the main page these links will be grayed out but visible to show you have already put it the list.

  18. A "reply" function in scenes - to aid asynchronous play

    Usually when a game is advertised as asynchronous, it's generally reassuring you that it's an atmosphere where you don't have to worry about the game moving on without you. However, that isn't the case with Storium's system as is.

    Some enthusiastic players end up posting a lot, while those with less time online... come back to find that they can't properly respond to other players who've attempted to interact with their character (many posts earlier).

    Using Safari on iPad and a bluetooth keyboard, Commentary section does not submit when hitting "enter" key. Onscreen keyboard works.

  20. Change landscape commentary placement on iPad and similar devices

    I like how comments works for my iPad when in portrait, but I normally use my iPad in Landscape mode, and the commentary box is much too small in that case. I suggest either changing it to work that way at all times, or allow users to toggle the placement themselves.
