Alert the Narrator that someone is in Character Gen before they close it
I was right at the end of generating a character for a game and then I was cut off; the narrator had closed the submission acceptance. I'd like to see the narrator get an alert that someone is in the middle of generating a character before they close it, or at least allow that person to finish and have a chance to be reviewed and potentially selected.

Google Hangout Storium webcasting-
This is a promotional idea that your team could do yourselves, this this idea is aimed at short-story writing with one main goal and it will be a great way to show how they came is played out, it will also perhaps inspire those sitting on the fence thinking its too hard to play or not very fun. Also i think this could be turned into a monthly show format, where the community can suggest a scenario or even make one up in Storium for you guys to use. This might inspire the community to make their own webcasts which…

Side bar with character
The site bar with the characters in a game could be fixed (css) so you could see it no matter where you are in the page.

allow changes to "nature."
As stories go on, characters change. I had a veteran monster hunter become a werewolf, for example. Alliegances shift, experience levels shift, and it would be helpful to create custom "nature" cards to reflect what characters become.

Option to Upload fitting music.
Having music for a specific scene could really help set a mood. Otherwise it could be difficult to determine just how much panic there is in a scene, or how empty a room is.

Show if a story you are reading is also looking for members
Several stories appear on the looking for members page, but have already begun. When you go to read them, there is no indication that they are still looking for members, and no easy way to join. You have to go back to the other list and find the story again. It is a lot of back and forth.

Allow users to change usernames
Right now we're stuck with the one we chose when we sign up, and it might be good if Storium could allow users to change their usernames, but put a limit on it so things don't get too confusing. Or perhaps have a display name separate from the username entirely.
53 votesAdminStephen Hood (Co-founder, Storium) respondedIf you email support@storium.com we will be happy to change your username! Please include the following info:
- your current username
- the email address asssociated with your account
- you first and second choices for a new user name (just in case the first is already taken) -
should find stories by language.
Since english is not my mother tongue it would be nice to have an additional language attribute to be searched / filtered for. Furthermore it would be easier to find open games in One's native language.

Put the entries from the daily digest email in chronologial order
At the moment, they are aggregated like so:
• The narrator ended a scene (3 total)
• The narrator started a new scene (3 total)
etcIt would be more useful if you could list the flow of posts as it actually happened, and maybe highlight the most recent move.

Have game adapt to changes you have made to cards.
I've changed the name and sex of some of the basic character cards but the original names keep popping up and I have to waste time going back to figure what I changed the name to and then edit the new card.

Narrators should be able to limit the number of moves a player can make.
I started a "slow" game and was only expecting one play per play per week. It's only been two days and some players have make three moves. It's really frustrating for a beginning narrator.

Change the phrasing of "...and tilted it towards an uncertain outcome."
The phrasing implies that the likely outcome has changed, but it appears to me from gameplay that the same phrasing is used if a neutral, status-quo maintaining card is played. Even just to "...which is tilting towards an uncertain uncome." would seem more accurate, if it cannot be the ideal, which would be to differentiate between "continuing" and "changed" statuses.

Filter through game by base world
It would be good to be able to filter through the possibly gamed based their base story world type.
4 votesA tagging system is in development so that users can filter through games based on genre, etc.

Disabling E-mail notifications
There definitely needs to be a way to disable e-mail notifications for games. It spams peoples' inboxes
12 votesNote that you can disable email notifications from your Profile page. You can also choose to receive only a daily digest. In the future we plan to let you customize these settings on a per-game basis.

Don't allow login using usernames
Login should only be allowed using email address and password, as both of these are 'hidden information'. Other users' usernames can be read on the site and thus make it much easier to target a specific user to break into their account.

Show asset cards as neutral-color (perhaps border)
If there is a 5-card challenge and a negative card is played, the challenge is described as tending weak. If a neutral asset card is played, the challenge is still described as tending weak, with 2 orange icons in the grid. To a player this looks like 3 positive cards need to be played to end positive, but in fact, 2 would do the trick.
With large challenges (e.g., 9 cards), where one has to balance strength, weakness, and asset cards just to achieve the number, the "challenge grid" is not very helpful, since it is a single color.

'unread' badges on front page game list
A badge or some other sort of indication on the front page game list showing/highlighting which games have unread moves or comments since you last logged in (or posted in that game?) would be handy for people with a lot of concurrent games, especially if their notifications are going haywire due to a fast paced game.

Link game play screen some how to Join screen. If you can see a game, and it's available, you can directly apply to join it
At the moment the sole way to join a game is through the looking for players columns, right? if you could navigate directly from looking at a game's main screen to applying for it, be so much simpler to find new available games. :)
