Allow for some graphical customization.
At the very least changing the backround colours of the cards and the game's pages would be very welcome. :) For private games, it would also be very cool to be able to set a (sufficiently high-res) image as a page background, instead of a solid colour. A starfield for SF games, for example.

Card forum
I think I'll be writing a lot of location and character cards... is there any way I can make them public for others to use? Seems a shame not to.
Maybe a forum where submitted cards can be voted on by story tellers to make them available for public use (or not).
5 votesYes indeed, one of the major upcoming changes to Storium is the creation of “worlds”, which will allow you to share your cards (as well as other world-building content) with the rest of the Storium community.

Peer Editing
I think it would be cool if once you made a post and someone was reading and they noticed a spelling or grammar error that you hadn't noticed they could 'suggest' a change in that word. On the players profile they could approve or deny the correction, but the suggestion wouln't appear to the other players.

Allow narrators to be user-blind
It'd be good to have an option to be unable to tell what user created what character. A lot of narrators have friends probably, and it'd help remove bias towards characters because of friends and just focus on how good the character is.

Not break the links on the arrow buttons
I am in the habit of middle-clicking to open things in new tabs, if I don't want to leave the page I'm on (and potentially lose a post in progress) to view something else. Please don't break the links on the arrow buttons that page through scenes with AJAX!

Optional Challenges
In several scenes I've narrated, I've found myself thinking "gosh, I wish there was a way to give my players a challenge that they could choose to do or not do." Say you're kidnapped by a group of hostiles, but there's one particular NPC that seems to sympathize with you. An optional challenge to gain their trust might be played there.
These would work differently than goals; for example, if your current mandatory challenge is NPC A, it'd be hard to fulfill a "make peace with NPC B in this scene" goal.
Perhaps Optional Challenges could be slightly greyed out…

template sandbox
After having narrated a few games, it seems to me that it would of great use for a narrator to have access to a way to set up the next scene or act in a format that could be saved within Storium that could then be applied to the story when needed. As it currently stands (as far as I can tell) the only way to do this is to create the scene but not "Publish" only holding it in "Preview" which works because it is saved but I have been caught out by publishing in error at the wrong…

Request a do-over of a scene
Sometimes a scene stalls because of a bad write-up of a beginning and then several boring challenges afterwards. It would be nice if there was a "redo scene" button, of course with all the players consent because it's also their writing that will be reverted.
This would help reinvigorate old games, ones that got off to a good start and then ends with a sub-par scene which would have been better off just scrapping and starting the scene-that-messed-things-up over again.

Green Room character sorting
A simple one: sort Green Room characters so retired are last; perhaps even a simple separator line between. Thanks.

make character creation non-sequential.
The thing I am finding I don't like about character creation is that it is hard-wired in to be sequential. I don't like that at all. Sometimes I think of a weakness before I can think of a good strength. Sometimes, I want to write the character description and name before I even think about creating or choosing cards. It's somewhat frustrating that I cannot see and be able to choose from all of the options available for all of the card types at one time, rather than having to choose the Nature first, and so on. I would rather…

Friendlist
Hey,
I would apreciate it, if you could add people to a friendlist to stay in touch with people you like to play with and to make it more comfortable to invite your friends to a story you re hosting.

Add an Episodic "medium" for stories with a TV Series feel
Storium currently refers to structural narrative units in terms of "Acts" and "Scenes," which works wonderfully to give most games their dramatic structure, but that terminlology seems to break down in games that don't fit neatly within the arc.
The Episodic medium would differ in three major ways from a traditional Storium game:
- Focus and Writing Style. The Episodic medium is much more plot- and action-driven. It focuses on vignettes rather than robust literary scenes; there may be a few scene changes within an Episode unit that would be cumbersome with what Storium now refers to as a "scene". Moves…

new world exploration achievements
I have two ideas for new achievements based on world exploration and it will encourage players to play in worlds or explore.
The first of these is the world explorer achievement.
You get this one in steps, much like other achievements for playing in a wide variety of worlds. It would have names like
traveler: 3 worlds
explorer: 10 worlds
wanderer: 25 worlds
trailblazer: 40 worlds
pathfinder: 60 worldsand so on, though of course those names might need adjustment.
the second kind of world achievement is a mastery achievement, which a player earns for playing multiple games in the…

Adjust the Give Card for multiple characters
It would make game play much easier and faster for the host if you could make it possible to Give the same card or stack of cards to a selection or all of your players instead of having to do it one player at a time.

Let narrators give an Asset stack to multiple players at the same time
There are often situations in which a narrator needs to hand an asset stack to multiple characters within the same move or put down multiple stacks of the same Asset/Goal for pick-up.
If I wanted to give 3 players 1 of the same asset, the current process for that is:
1. "Give"
2. Select quantity (mouse clicks)
3. Select the player
4. "Confirm"
5. (Repeat 3 times)It would be really helpful if we had checkboxes (or a Shift+Click) to select multiple players under "Choose a Player" in the "Give" pop-up so that things are more like:
- "Give"
- Select quanity…

Link similar stories to the one a player is viewing
As the amount of finished Storium games grows and grows, it might be fun for readers of a Storium session to get suggested links attached to that story - stories that are similar in genre, fandom, type, etc. It could be a great way to feature stories that a reader might not discover otherwise, all depending on the type of content they're interested in reading.

add a way to highlight excellent prose
Sometimes some truly excellent prose is written in Storium. It would be nice to flag/highlight/thumbs-up/applaud really top quality work for future readers and or future reference.
At present, the indicators of excellent quality writing are the number of followers (stars) and if the story has been featured before. It would be nice to have something more fine-grain.
Also, it would be nice for people coming afterwards to leave their applause for well-written sections of a story.

make games update when character slots open up
I understand that an unpaid account is necessarily limited but being unable to free up character slots makes trying the Storium service nearly impossible, especially for a first time user.
