This is a super interesting idea, thank you for sharing it! We will put it in the mix ideas we’re experimenting with.

An error occurred while saving the comment Geoffrey Rabe commentedI agree with most of the comments here, and made my own on the page containing the suggestion AlwaysAPrice made. I strongly suggest checking out the link in his post and voting there, too.

An error occurred while saving the comment Geoffrey Rabe commentedI agree - having a "Narrator's Cut" for a completed game in an archive (or a wiki, if there is one or if there's going to be one) would be a great idea, both for the players of that game to refer back to, and for new players - especially new narrators, to help them learn better how to narrate, by example - as well as for anyone who wants to read the various completed games. And to keep the file shorter, perhaps just have the initial graphic, maybe in a smaller version, at the top of the game synopsis, and no graphics for the characters, just their names (that would also, perhaps, help keep the players' anonymity, for those whose avatar is a personal picture).

We’re going to experiment with this idea during Gamma, along with some related concepts. Thanks for the feedback!
Geoffrey Rabe supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Geoffrey Rabe commentedI agree that some kind of mechanic like this would be good for the game...
- if the Narrator needs to respond to something the player(s) have done; IE, something completely unexpected or which takes the story off on a real tangent
- to account for delays in player or Narrator replies
- to cover short vacations or business trips (OTOH, for things like that, perhaps a break in the game would be more proper, depending on the time frame)
- or for similar things that just pop up from time to time; the unexpected
Just my $0.02... -

We are going to try out something related to these suggestions, probably in the timeframe of Gamma. Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Hi - I generally agree with this concept, but with the 'continued version of the same character & player' versus 'a group of characters, but reused by new players,' the 'Scooby-Doo' approach. And, of course, while I generally agree that items/knowledge one picks up from one story could be brought into a new story, that the narrator would have final say if any particular knowledge or item is appropriate in the new milieu. So, all-in-all, I say yes, for each player having a character vault.
