  1. allow editing of character submission

After submitting a character for narrator approval I realized there were several typos in my submission. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way of editing my submission to fix the typos.

Would be great if people could edit their submission until it's reviewed by the narrator.

  2. Have a Character Action Tracker

I envision something like the comments section, but for a brief update on the last character action and/or placement in the scene. It shouldn't be an ongoing or continual list. It would have one update per character. Something like this:

Char #1 - unconscious in hallway
Char #2 - connected to cybernet in netbay 1
Char #3 - connected to cybernet in netbay 3
Char #4 - sneaking into netbay 3 behind char #3
Char #5 - haggling with shopkeep over price to rent netbays
Char #6 - doing drugs in netbay 2

I see this being very helpful in…

  3. Story and Character Downloads

    Hi Storium,

LOVE THE GAME! I have one request. I would find it very helpful to be able to download a text file of the story so far and character descriptions of those who are playing. That would help a lot for players to maintain continuity without having to go back through all the online scene screens to review who has which object; what that little plot twist was and who made it; even details like what the setting is.

    Thank you,

    Dawn Cromwell

  4. Autocomplete User Names

In the commentary track, I am trying to speak to another player in the game with their User Name. I noticed other people did the same, but typos caused problems and prevented notifications. If it would be possible to enable an autocomplete function, for user names within the same game, that would be excellent.

  5. Create Default Cards

Rather than needing to come up with your own specific cards for custom games, having the option of adding 'generic' cards to Natures, Strengths, Weaknesses, and Subplots would allow people to add general roles to their settings.

  6. Use the border around character avatars to indicate card usage

Segment the border around each character portrait and use the three segments to indicate how many cards each character has left to use in the scene.

  7. syntax on outcome results that censors part of the result until the outcome is complete

I would love some tags that I could use to hide part of the text of an outcome until it is completed.

    For example, an outcome could be "You realize you are not alone in the room. Suddenly, from the left {{a zombie-cat pounces on top of you!}}

It would make completing the final outcome even more dramatic, and allow for a better workflow when revealing mysteries.

  8. Give an easier way to get from the "Play" pages to the "Apply to join" page

When a game still as applications open, you can favourite it or find it from a narrator or player page, but I don't think you can find the "apply to join" page except by going back to the "browse"->"looking for players" list. This can be painful, especially when it may have many pages and no good way to search through it.

  9. drop or remove assets from a character

Sometimes a character or player has to be retired. A lot of time they still have assets on them. This idea would allow the Narrator to retire a character - describe their sudden and inevitable death - then "drop" all the assets they have on them so players can no loot their corpse. A player, in addition, could also just "drop" an Asset card so it can be picked up by anyone and not handed off directly all the time.

  10. use google chrome's notification system

  11. Create a Section in User Profiles for Previously Created Cards

I think it would be fantastic if within our profiles (either private or public) was a tab for viewing our previously created cards and characters. This would give us a reference point for stories we will create in the future and enhance our personal experience as we could look back on our previous ideas.

  12. New "Character Graveyard " Forum category

I love Storium, but it's not always easy to keep a game alive, which is a shame because sometimes you have great characters, but then no game for them. I would love to have a forum specifically for people who have a character but nowhere to put them. I know there is the looking for group section, but having a place to collect all the characters in one place might be an easier way to find them/keep them from getting buried under other posts. Plus could be a fun way support people who have developed someone cool/spark story ideas, even…

  14. Allow Narrator to modify Strength/Weakness Limits

So, I realize that this would unbalance the game as it currently is, but one of my players really doesn't like that you can only have (at most) 3 strength and 3 weakness cards before wild cards.

As the game currently is, you need to play all six of these cards for a refresh, so I really dunno how well it would work.

  16. Add a character health option

Combat would be difficult in a game such as this (at least for the current build) but in some games, such as survival or a story with enemies, it might be useful to know if you have taken damage or are injured.

It wouldn't he a way to kill a character immediately but might provide a side challenge or optional objective.

  17. Allow attaching "rule systems" to a game

Imagine having slightly different mechanics available. For example, maybe to play a strength card a player must spend a Fate point. But if they play a weakness card they get a Fate point. And they start a story out with X fate points. When you start a game you could "attach" this alternate rule card to the game, or another one that someone comes up with to adjust how games are played.

Because I don't want to play one of the eleventy vampire based games that show up in EVERY damn role play type place.

  19. To-Do List

Would the devs consider maintaining a list of in-the-works features so that we know if we're about to suggest something that's already being worked on? (And maybe a parallel list of things that will definitely not be implemented?)

  20. Dibs/turn-taking system

I'd like a way for the players in my game to reserve a spot at the end of the game that means "I'll go next and am working on my response". This would make turntaking easier for my group.
