An error occurred while saving the comment Rachel Wild commentedthere's a similar thing here, where Stephen has mentioned that having players read private games along without playing wouldn't require them to be invited/create a character any more. https://storium.uservoice.com/forums/211322-general/suggestions/5299321-allow-invites-and-spectators
the issue with retiring players temporarily to manage scenes or leaves of absence is one that has been mentioned elsewhere, so you might want to transfer your votes to one of them :)

Sorry about what happened! Until recently, a narrator could delete a game at any time, which caused everything — including characters — to be deleted. We recently changed this, so you shouldn’t have this happen to you again.
In the future (hopefully for our Gamma release) you’ll be able to rejoin a game after leaving it. We’re not sure yet about bringing a retired character into a different game, but we are thinking about it!
An error occurred while saving the comment Rachel Wild commentedHi, I agree with this totally! With regards to having your retired characters be available to read at least, I've just posted a solution here and would appreciate the upvotes: https://storium.uservoice.com/forums/211322-general/suggestions/6229926-link-to-retired-characters-and-or-games-either-on
The thing about resurrecting a character in a different game, or even in the same game at a later point, is also good, and has been mentioned in quite a few other feedbacks too, such as this one: https://storium.uservoice.com/forums/211322-general/suggestions/5714403-export-characters-to-different-stories and this one: https://storium.uservoice.com/forums/211322-general/suggestions/5864021-allow-character-to-come-out-of-retirement-player

Allow narrator or another player to take over inactive characters as player characters after 2 weeks
26 votesRachel Wild supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Rachel Wild commentedanother similar idea here: https://storium.uservoice.com/forums/211322-general/suggestions/5892846-narrator-can-make-moves-for-retired-characters where I commented:
Would love this to be an option, though I imagine it's somewhat tied in with the functionality of narrators being able to control NPCs as if they were characters rather than just scene descriptions.
if that was possible, then retiring would just be a case of the retiring player to have 2 options - deciding whether to write their character out permanently, or [by default, to account for those players who don't want to communicate, or for those who don't care enough to retire themselves and make the narrator do it] to allow the narrator to keep that character as an NPC.
though I'd definitely stick to it being around a conscious decision to retire, and wouldn't make it an arbitrary amount of absence. also you might have to give some kind of comeback for players who have their characters forcibly retired by narrators, against their wishes, though you don't even have that option currently anyway.

An error occurred while saving the comment Rachel Wild commentedagreed, I've got a variety of game speeds in play at the moment, from hardcore to casual, and unfortunately my notifications are becoming almost unusable due to one or two games drowning out any sign of activity in the slower game. I'd love to be able to adjust email settings per game, or maybe have a set of tick boxes of notification types that should just be included in a daily digest, anything like that.

An error occurred while saving the comment Rachel Wild commentedI made a similar suggestion but have just deleted it as I realise you posted yours first! I agree, highlighting or differentiating wild card usage by players would be awesome, as well as showing players which cards have been created as part of the base world vs which cards have been custom created by the narrator. perhaps each card could have an author credit as well as an artwork credit? there might need to be a 'modified by' bit if a narrator/player edits a preset card though too

really like this feature :) so many suggestions for personal comments on various pages - narrator notes for games, player notes on character biogs, player notes on other players, all of these would be really handy
